So here it is, 88 conquest/starion, was making around 400hp with a stock bottom end 4g54 on MPI and billet hx40

After breaking the drive shaft at the track, i decided to go a different route. I sold everything, planned to put a twin turbo lq4 (chevy 6.0) in the car.
During parts gathering i ran across a good deal on a 4d56, so i sold everything again! LOL, now i have the 2nd in the world known 4d56 Starion
this is my old setup on a wh1c before i got my hx40

didnt take long after i starting learning on how to adjust the injection pump. turned fuel and boost up, running 25-30psi on the stock turbo
didnt last long though LOL

Ordered a custom Kinugawa td04-15t billet

Received a Delica l200 gauge cluster, i began cutting it out and figuring out how it worked to make a tach work in my car off the factory rev counter

Long jump forward of small pitally things
made piping to put a stock intercooler on the car, added a egt gauge, added a nice big Fuso 6.6l diesel fuel filter, upgraded to a 3 row s13 sr20 radiator, high power 14" 2 speed fan mounted on front as backup, 14" flex fan mounted on pump for primary

yesterday had a change to pull valve cover off and clean it up, readjust the valves too
looks better in person, seems the red was oversaturated in the pic

well started yesterday, pulled a gas motor out of my silver shell and began getting it ready. Swapping from the blue bucket to the silver roller started today. though not pictured the motor is now in the silver car, but have not changed fuel tanks/pumps or wiring yet.
on another note, the silver is auto, so no more noisy trans, and i feel like im getting old, im tired of shifting LOL

JZ seems to be the most common swap, a while back i had a 2jz in possession for a while and considered putting it in. Changed my mind and continued to go up with the 4g54. I still miss the billet hx40, thought the turbo in the pic about is my wh1c and not the hx40.
i still have the purple wh1c, when my adapter comes from JDLAutodesign ill be installing it. need more air LOL

Not much has been done, mostly maintenance. Had issues with slipping slush boxes, added a water/meth injection, pushing 40psi sometimes. Got the car dyno'd on 30psi, switched from a flex to a clutch fan after figuring out something that fit

this has been really cool to read up on. I commend you for such an extreme swap to diesel LOL.

Gives me another idea for my last Starion Shell that I will build in a few years ( 1986 Widebody red JDM vin tag ending in - 0015 went to a dealer in OHIO for his SCCA team car, 22,000 miles sat for 22 years until I found it in a storage shed from, I was told it raced until 88 when it it meet a wall and ruined the fender. It now sits climate controlled storage awaiting it final build ....
I like the idea od the diesel swap .... plenty of torque and a little better engine platform.

Oh i love it, still waiting for my t3 adapter, you can feel it choking on the tiny td04 turbine, and it wants more air.
My next plans are bigger turbo, 2.25 or 2.5 intake and piping, and bigger intercooler

skullz im sure you already know this to, but if you havent upgraded your injectors or fuel pump you might want to do those as well. along with a good tune

If you are talking about the first pic, that was 1000cc injectors, walbro 255, and tune was perfect on fuel.

There are no aftermarket injectors for my diesel that i have found. I have a clicker pump for it (not required), and no aftermarket injection pumps

changed after a long time. Now pulling the diesel from the conquest to put in my ram50. Looking at going 1j or 2j in the conquest in the future

I've seen them both with a 3.8 Grand National engine. Those cars were way ahead of their time. Pretty cool that one of the first stations I fell in love with as a kid was in cannonball run with Jackie Chan as the driver. I miss the over engineered and under rated cars of the 80's.

its a shame they didnt over engineer the engine LOL. 2.6 itself isnt horrible but the tbi fuel injection was just stupid. I have not decided what engine is going in the conquests shell now, debating on several setups. However everything i am looking at has been done a lot. LS/JZ/UZ/13b, all have been done, so not sure which path i will go. i do want power again. Maybe a LL8 Vortec 4.2l i6, turbo of course

Why not a 4g63. I know They've been done before , but it's keeping it all in the mistu family. :dsm::hellyeah:
this truck actually had a wideblock 4g63 LOL, yea i just didnt want to do a 63/64. Want to do something oddball, was looking at doing a turbo LL8 4.2l maybe
