I recently bought a 91' talon as a donor for my 94' 4g37 Fwd. I plan to rebuild the 4g63t AWD and do a complete swap into the 94' talon. Any help would be highly appreciated And what are the possible problems, basically is it possible?
i have a 91' gsx but its frame has rust damage and is missing many of the exterior body panels.

Me personally, i am just getting into This scene but i have a family member that lives with me that has been doing things like this for about 13 years. so he is fairly talented in what he does.

I've been reading this and your other post about the conversion, and to be 100% honest bro, 90% of people on here are going to recommend you just start with a factory AWD, and not convert a FWD. Not anything personal to you or to be rude, that would be the easiest route.

If I was going to do a major conversion like that, it certainly would not be what your trying to do. I would tackle a mirage/evo conversion, or something really worth that kind of effort. That's just my opinion. Or put a 4g into a miata shell, something super light weight.

You certainly could just keep it FWD, that
would save thousands of hours of
fabrication. And if you really want to be unique, you could just keep it N/A. Certainly would leave you with alot of money
left over for suspension, brakes and tires. Yeah it's not laying 500whp, but honestly, its not all about being a dyno Queen.

I guess what I'm trying to say, you really need a plan on this. But your going to get the same response about a build of this nature. You are much better off just starting with a factory AWD. :beatentodeath:

Tsi was available fwd and awd. Can you drop the turbo motor into the 1.8? Yes but youll also need the trans, axles, ecu and wiring harness, flywheel, clutch, backing plate, motor mounts and you'll still have small 1.8 brakes unless you convert those too.

I plan on putting alot work into this car, i understand now that it is a bigger project than i once intended, but its going to be my project car. My goal is to get it done before i go off to college.
I have changed my plans still though, i am going to make it a Fwd Tsi rather than an Awd, and plan on transferring the brakes over too, i feel that since this being my first major project, even if the performance upgrade isn't quite worth the amount of work or money, i feel that the experience of basically rebuilding / piecing the motor back together from Literary just the guts will be a good step in the right direction for a future in the DSM World.
I am hoping to use this build as a learning experience too, with the added benefit of upgrading from a 1.8L 4g37 Fwd to a 4g63t Fwd. All in a 94' 1gb
Now knowing the goals of this build Any further feedback or ideas would be helpful.
I hope i am not coming off ignorant or hard headed, Thank you all for the feedback.

Nothing youre doing should be especially hard, just really tedious. There are some gotchas. Not all fwd trans are the same. You should use a turbo trans and if you do be aware different years use different axles.
Fuel will also be an issue. You will need the appropriate fuel pump, injectors and ecu and of course mass air sensor, piping, fuel, pressure regulator all from a turbo car. If you donor is complete youre mostly set.
Mitsubishi dealer parts software will greatly help you figure out what parts are the same and which arent

that is where i am having issues, actually finding the parts. My donor is just the block, head, trans. its all the guts but almost all of the bolt ons' are gone , including the intake/ exhaust manifold. other than the engine bay being a complete mess, the other half of the car is fine except for the frame which is a rusted mess from sitting for about 6 years, if that were not the case, i would just put that one back together.
I'm not to sure which, (if any ) parts i can transfer off of the 4g37, which is were the Mitsubishi Parts software will help?
What do you mean by Mitsubishi dealer parts software? excuse my lack of knowledge..

I'm not even entirely sure of the all the parts i need, hence why i was looking for an exploded view of the engine.
