Just want to share the background story of my 99 gst. It is very interesting and all most unbelievable. Here's the timeline:

July 2002- bought used with 40k miles from Mitsubishi dealership.

June 2003 - my wife and I got married and car was the "decorated" car.

2003-2006 - car became a hobby/project while still being a daily driver. All mods in profile are from this time frame.

July 2007 - very sad day as I traded the car for a 2002 mustang gt (yeah I know). Traded to a very small owner/operator used car lot in a very small town 60 miles away from my hometown. Worse decision of my life.

August 2007- car was sold to new owner

September 2007 - new owner found my profile on cardomain.com and contacted me with questions.

December 2007 - sold 02 gt and bought 04 gt (tried to buy gst back, no luck)

November 2008 - traded 04 gt for a 03 Mach 1 (tried to buy gst back, no luck)

February 2010 - sold Mach 1 and bought a 350z (tried to buy gst back, no luck)

August 2011 sold 350z (tried to buy gst back, no luck)

April 2012 - gave up on gst and finally got another dsm. A 95 eagle talon tsi awd (pictures in profile). But still missed my 99 gst

May 2014 - after lots of work done to the talon, just wasn't in to and sold it.

So life goes on. No more sports cars or projects. In 2015 my wife and I moved and bought a new house and in December we welcomed our first child, our beautiful baby girl.

January 2016 - busy being a 1st time dad and working on new house, I get a Facebook message from no other than the owner of my old gst. Guess what? He's finally interested in selling it. My wonderful wife is on board with me trying to get it back. So we plan a date to go look at it (haven't seen it in 8 plus years). Trying to not get my hopes up, after all everyone beats these cars up and then sells right? We drive a hour and a half to check it out. Pull in the driveway and there she sits! Unbelievable it looks exactly like the day I traded it. So looks good, but what about miles, drive ability, price? How about he only drove it 12k miles in those 8 plus years! Great! Getting excited! Now the test drive. The agx shocks have seen their better days on the 13 year old h&r springs and a terrible vibration, guessing it was the dry rotted possibly flat spotted tires, but still pulled like a banshee, blowing those horrible tires through the 1st 3 gears. We work out a fair price and after a long 8 plus years of regret and trying to fill the void with other cars, amazingly, I'm driving her back home where she belongs!

So I have spent the past 2 months getting her "right". All maintenance done, new wheels and tires, new rotors, removing 13 year window tint, and lots of cleaning. Compression checked at 178 180 182 176 very stoked about that as the long block has never been opened. Next up boost leak test and to finish the project I started 13 years ago. Tag will say PRDGLSON (prodigal son)

Attached is a quick picture of how she currently sits.

That's too funny. Bet you're glad to have that beast back!
I had a 90 laser (hence my username) it was my first dsm and I only had it for a short time. It had barely over 100k on the clock and the interior was flawless. I really wanted awd so I sold it for a $400 profit. Three awd's later I realized that I should have kept it but I never planned on having more than one dsm at that time. I found it on craigslist three years later but the guy sold the tranny, pulled the motor and wanted more for it than I bought it for the 1st time, running and driving.

Your story is better, you got your car back!
