Not really showing off welding but they are tig welded though on the lower mounting boss, rather just showing off some polishing i do at work, these are stainless seatbelt hoops for the Cobras we build. Im not the greatest polisher but its progress. The lower ones are raw and unfinished and the shiney ones are of course polished.

looks sick kyle, what type of settings, and set up.

I am having a tough time with my welds of late. even made a chill plate.

My settings? I'm on a dynasty200dx at work love it! I'll be investing in a 210dx soonish. Settings are 100amps and like 20ish seconds post flow. We have liquid argon at work so the torch flow is a little extreme for some reason. But I'm hitting about 45cfh from the torch with a specialty precision welding(SPW) titanium standard cup. I also like the furick cups but all mine broke.

awesome wow 20 seconds post flow, I have mine on the max dial which is 8 , then I double tap the pedal to get an additional cycle .

thanks for the info.
I dont use all 20 seconds, depends how hot the material is post weld.

Tip of the day: wait until the weld's red glow is gone at minimum before removing post flow. The weld should be bright silver if you have proper gas flow before removing the torch from the weld.

Yeah, those too, but the company owner and shop manager also all like to gang up.

I reached my breaking point, gave them my two week notice and said i will need atleast a three dollar raise to stay. Guess they thought i was worth it :D

Congrats! I did something almost similar in the middle of January - I gave them my two weeks. They did not try and keep me though, so I started working for myself and am now a contractor working under my own name as a sub for my old company's competitor :)

Pay is waaay better as a contractor, despite more paperwork.

I'm going to be practicing MIG welding on 16 gauge 304 stainless pipe this weekend. I got my trimix gas and some solar flux. Hopefully it turns out well. Anyone have any pointers?

Heres my contribution. Ive been having weird torch/gas issues since i switched over to the synchrowave 200... My work is selling the dynasty. But I'll be grabbing a dynasty210dx for myself in the next few months

Oh this is what i found in regards to bad gas issues, was having bad coverage and then it just stopped arcing.

Yikes, that's some serious pitting from arcing. Was there any thread tape on there, or was it just loose?
No thread tape. It was having bad contamination right out of the torch the. Just stoppEd arcing, look over and the lead is unscrewed from the connector, and the connector was still in the terminal. Was
Probably loosening for 6 months i just got on this machine last week and had to figure out why everything would be colorfull then all of a sudden black

Never tried MIG on stainless, only thing I can suggest is to start on something thicker than 16 gauge. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

We had some issues with the syncrowave at work too, it was doing some weird things. Turned out the foot pedal was shorted internally, so it was always on. LOL But yeah, the small dynasty 200 seems to be my favorite too.

Urban, just curious do you fabricate the manifolds yourself or do the engineers tell you at what angles to cut the weld els and than you just have to massage them to fit? Just interested in how you guys figure out the angles other than just trial and error, solid works?

No engineers at my work. I just kinda do it after im shown. No two manifolds are identical, even if they use the same pieces. I dont know how it was designed initially, probably trial and error, that's what I'd do
