Hello, I was under impression that for 1g the front axles are the same for 5spd and auto. However, I just checked the shaft diameters, and the 1990 5spd is 23mm and the reman axles from 1992 auto are 25mm. I only have one. So, are those the revised ones? Should I use the ones I have or find the larger one? They have round inner axle cups. Looks like the ebay ones. I intend to drag race eventually and hope to avoid broken axles.

The axles are different on the AWD models but the 5 speed axles still work with the auto. I have been using 5 speed axles on both my auto 1g's with no problems. For informational purposes, 1 of my DSM started life as a manual and was converted to auto and the other was already an auto.
