My clutch has gone out on my GST and I'd like to have a Wavetrac LSD installed in my transmission while its out. Are there anyshops that can do this or have done this with DSMs (more specifically the LSD)? I would do it myself if I had the space but I don't =/ I did a search also and came up with a buncha really old posts.

I've called FFtec and they referred me to Ted but he hasn't replied to my email. Just wanna know what are my options because it seems like no one can do this. I so wish RRE was closer. =/

Hmm I called this place in San Jose:
Auto Clutch & Transmission Specialist

They said they could do what I was asking for, haha I asked them can they do it like 3 times and they said yes. Anyway has anyone had any experience with this shop?

I swear trying to find someone that can do transmission work is hard nowadays its like a lost art, everything just gets sent out or replaced.

If you don't need it on a super now basis. I would try working something out with Ted, I mean if FFTEC referred you to him he's got to be good right. But I would assume he's got a lot of work on his plate right now. But keep trying. You want it right I'd harass Ted LOL

Where did you end up going? I need my clutch done soon.

I think I'm having Ted do it but he has a lotta projects going on right now so I gotta wait. I would prefer he work on it but if it takes too long I might go somewhere else, the car has been sitting for two months =( I almost want to just sell it since I never drive it, its worse that I can't even drive it now. =(

Just an update on this I wound up just getting the clutch replaced. I had originally wanted Ted to fix this shep transmission I got with a wavetrac diff but I wound up buying a 1991 Galant VR4 (which promptly threw its timing belt, what a headache) and was going to sell the GST somewhere down the line, so I wound up going to Tech3 in San Jose where they worked on my Z before. Towed the car off on a Friday and they called me on Monday that it was done.

I had an exedy clutch in there where the disc kinda just blew up, I never really abused it... too much anyway. They said the pressure plate failed but the parts that broke came from the disc maybe they were mistaken or both failed. Allz I know is my car runs again =). I had them install an ACT2100 with a street sprung disc, new clutch fork, pivot ball, OEM mitsubishi throwout bearing, and Redline MT-85. Tech3 is off of Monterey road near curtner in San Jose. They charged me almost 700 to install the clutch which I provided, I think that's a fair price. They told me they probably couldn't fix my tranny, I guess I'd have to take it to transmission specialist but doesn't matter now.

I emailed Ted a number of times and he seemed to want to take the job. I get all the parts together and email him, but then he tells me he's backed up 2 months. I email him again after the new year and no reply, got tired of seeing my car just sitting on the street.

Good stuff man. And yeah Ted is a good guy but it seems he's got a lot on his plate right now. 2 big projects. 1 of them being a full build from ground up for a buddy of mine. Just so you have an idea. And of course has to squeeze in personal time for whatever he wants to do too. Are you going to the Bakersfield event?

What's going on in Bakersfield? Is there E85 on the way to bakersfield also =P? Yeah I'm workin on converting it back to gasoline such a hassle. After the timing belt disaster on the VR4 I think I might do the timing belt on the eclipse also so I don't really wanna take it on long trips.

Import Face off at famoso raceway, I believe there's only 1 E85 station on the way. It's in Fresno. I usually bring two 5 gallon jugs of E85 with me.
