awesome! good to see others discovering these unique vehicles. you should join 4g61t forums. there is a van/wagon section with best compilation of info about these cars.

there are AWD models. AWD A/T pretty easy to find. AWD 5 spd very difficult to find. you have to be willing to buy from far away. I drove 20 hours to get mine. but would have bought unseen and shipped in if it came to that.

there were two engines offered in these cars. the 2.4 and 1.8. the 2.4 is same footprint as 2.0 block. so the 4g63 drops in with DOHC conversion to wire harness.

So it looks like one would have to find a 2.4 awd for more compatible swap. It would be fun to do one of these considering more space in the vehicle and having a 4g63 power plant.

people are converting the 1.8 cars. its just a little more work as more parts have to be located for the swap. they drive amazing. they are 50lbs lighter than 1g awd cars. with just a ton of character. I am super excited to own one. I drive it more than my evo 1. honestly even a mild build on a FWD version is something too consider. the chassis, gas tank, and exhaust are same from FWD to AWD. so an AWD conversion is quite easy on one.

This is the first I've seen or heard of these cars. Looks like a Dodge version of the Summit minivan. Something new to keep an eye out for on the craigslist.

Thanks for checking out my Van!

I use the Fuel Pressure Solenoid controls in Ecmlink to help control when the BOV activates. The 1g BOV I have is modified so that the quick release mechanism is controlled by a air solenoid. When I am on part throttle and boost is at 1+psi the BOV will stay shut and the car will accelerate. The stock BOV tends to not close all the way at part throttle/low boost and this causes a nasty bog.
Search dodgemod bov or Gus Mahon

colt vista, summit wagon, and LRV were names for USA versions. RVR was JDM name. chariot was name for 5 dr JDM wagons. so yeah this is the summit wagon sold through dodge as colt vista. Eagle and Dodge also sold 5dr versions. but they dont look as cool. but they do seat 7 mini people.

I am using the SGI-5e DakotaDigital tach adapter. I found it a few years ago when i installed Ecmlink on a Corrolla GTS 4AGE engine and needed to make the tach work. I don't recall what settings it is on and it's tucked in the dash under the gauge cluster. Really easy to setup, i just kept changing the switches until my tach needle worked. Looks funny when i take it up to 7000rpm and redline for the van starts at 6000. Looks like i am revving to the moon!

I will take more pictures.
I didn't even paint the bumper when i put it on! The color is very close to the OEM rocker panel colour. It's a little wider than the stock bumper across the nose of the van, so there are two fender gaps that i have to live with, but it fits better than the one i put on my Talon. Also i had to cut the bumper wheel arcs to match the van profile. I still have some of the OEM crash bar still in there, only cut where the intercooler was going to be. I rebent my power steering cooler to fit between the rad and the intercooler. I should have taken pictures, but I was having too much fun installing it.
I ran the stock 1g intercooler for a while, but I found it barely worked and it felt like a bottle neck in the system. I logged repeated 20+ degree celcius temperature hikes in a 2-3 gear pull. I even installed the OEM 1g ducting to the intercooler and it barely helped. It would heatsoak bad and then it would take 3 minutes of no boost driving to cool it back down, and it would knock randomly during a pull. Once i put on the big FMIC the tune got much more consistant and knock disappeared. 5 degree rise in 2-3 gear pull and cools down immediatly.
I'll try to take more pictures tonight, but it's cold and snowy out here today.

man I am really struggling now on what front bumper to use. I reeeeally like the way that subi bumper looks. it just looks like it belongs. even with the gap it still looks good. you could shave off the inner material for a cleaner look. like it was supposed to have the gap. and in my case once its painted same color as car it will blend even better. this is what i had planned for my bumper. for a more sleeper look.

I found the subaru bumper very nice swap thanks to the turn signals being functional. When i put this bumper on my talon, i had to fiberglass over the signal holes to make it look acceptable, if you don't it doesn't look right.
I was hoping that there would be room in the fog light holes for fog lights, but nope not with the intercooler pipes there. I think an imprezza rs bumper would look amazing, but i have not found those at my scrap yard.
I love seeing the van parked and the front mount peeking out under that bumper. I was goint to cut out the plastic in front of the intercooler, but my intercooler temps were acceptable and it also looked OEMish, so I left it and I like it. Not overly aggressive and very stock appearing, like the VR4 Galant front bumper.

I went down to the local picknpull yard and there was another Colt Vista there! 230000kms AWD AT with the 16v 2.4l motor. My colt needs a new rear gate opener and surrounding reflector trim. I'll pull it off on a warmer day. All the plastic wanted to crack instead of flex today.
I also scored a 8"+9" brake booster and 17/16" master cylinder off a 3g Galant for 40$. Bought some Earls brake fittings to make the connections easy. Hope to install it today with some pictures to post as well.

Did the install, had some typical DSM snags, but it all bolted together and i only had to modify one part to make it work. Uploaded a few pictures of the install and some compare pictures.
Bleeding the system tomorrow and i will post results as well.

Finished the 3g brake upgrade. It took a while to bleed the old rear lines, really nasty milky looking fluid came out, but the crap fluid is all out and fresh clear Dot 4 is in ready to brake.
The test drive went well, with proper modern brake pedal feel. The brake pedal feels much more serious about stopping the vehicle now. Like how the gas pedal got more serious once it was turbocharged. I like it and feel it was worth the effort. Now i just need dual piston front brakes...
