Maybe I'm missing the thread (if it exists), on where we're to look for new shifter cables? Checked Extreme PSI and did a little looking on Google; no dice.

Someone thought it was a good idea to replace the bushings in the cable ends with bearings. Then they didn't take care of them so they seized. I had to cut the cables to get the transmission out.

Any help is appreciated guys! Thanks!

Maybe Miller Imports have some used. I know it may not be new but it hope it helps good luck.

That is a good option however I would like to find where to source new ones. Just simply because used ones can be stretched, fraying, dry-rotted and the list goes on and on. It would just would be nice to know if we have a new alternative for 1gs as we do for 2gs.

Thanks.

They are discontinued. Unless someone is hoarding a new set, used ones are your choice.

This is the case for aftermarket brands as well?

something i've toyed the idea with is hydraulic shifters. but it'd take more planning and not quite sure how they'd be

How hard can it be to make your own? Most of the components already exist in other forms.

I don't know. If you do feel free to enlighten us all!

Just bought my new set for my gvr4 from jnz and couldn't be happier ;). They should work just fine even though it says gvr4. If you look under the 91-94 DSM its discountinued. I thought it was saying for gvr4 to. But just says gvr4 shown in pic LOL. I see no reason why you can't use them as most parts work for 1g DSM and gvr4 stuff. I would email or call josh at jnz he would know for sure, They are awsome!

I typed (diy shifter cabels). That was it.

If that's the route that has to be taken then so be it. I'm looking for a premade replacement at the moment however. So if this fails then I/we are forced to turn to that.

RTM has a few left. Not sure if we have all examples (early 1g, late 1g, 2g, etc) but we've got some left. But as has been mentioned, they've been discontinued by Mitsu, so if we don't have them in stock, we can't get them.

Thanks for the information. It might be time someone decides to start making these for those of us looking for new ones, no?

Edit: Looks like 1990 cables are the only ones available which doesn't help me. Anyone needing new '90 cables get a hold of RTM.

We've still got some 2g's left as well.

In the case of this thread and pertaining to only 1gs that is irrelevant. No offence. Everyone who offers/offered OEM cables still have 2g stuff. Those I'm not too worried about at the moment.
