I've been pondering the idea of a hx35 on my 4g64 sohc with forged internals. How well will it spool the hx35? I have nothing special going on with the engine right now besides the forged pistons and rods.
 
if it still has high compression pistons then it'll spool it a little quicker than a low compression 4g63 would. but to counter act that is the 4g64 restricted intake and i'm not sure but i think valves are smaller to. so it should still be decent
 
Compression doesn't make much of a difference in spool, actually. It mostly affects off-boost power and elevates cylinder pressures.

I'm not sure how the SOHC 4G64 behaves, but it's going to spit out transmissions with all that displacement.
 
same transmission the gst has. ik compression doesn't make the difference. i was just thinking since is high compression that itd come out faster which spins the turbines faster
 
a good clutch would help hold the power. but, you will need to add in a knock sensor and the fuel injector resistor pack since the 450 cc injectors are low impedance. get the gst or gsx ecu and add in those 2 then it should be good to go
 
the 64 head and intake are fine. no porting needed. the sohc head will perform just as good as the dohc head, it just doesnt have the aftermarket support and of course it doesnt look as cool. I run 18 lbs of boost on stock 4g64 internals all day. its all in the tune. If you are gonna use piggyback controllers then i wouldnt go more than 12 psi.

same here though, full spool at 3.5-4k
 
Yeah I'm getting low impedance injectors so I won't need a box and I have a knock sensor wired in already. I forgot to mention black box ecu for tuning. And I don't know the whole 4g63 head is out of my price range and I feel like its not totally necessary for me at the moment. Maybe after I hit 350whp.
