Does anyone have a good write up about the Kiggly Mod and installing a rachet shifter in a 2G? I swapped my car over to an auto and am down to the wiring. I found a few write-ups for the 1G but hear the 2G's have different color wires which can make it interesting.

This is the write up I found for a 2G but am still confused:

Which wires connect to which solenoids? It is probably something simple I'm missing but for some reason this whole idea just won't click in my head enough for me to go attempt it. Will someone that has it done on a 2G snap a picture of their wiring job with a good explanation on exactly how to wire it?

If I understand it enough to attempt it, I will do a full 2G write up with detailed pictures to help people out in the future.

That's what I hear but my neutral safety switch just has a short plug attached to it, where does all the wiring come from?

Here are some pics of my trans, can anyone point out the wires coming off the neutral safety switch that I attach the diodes to?

Kiggly wiring is different between the 1g and 2g, I also need help with this asap

So I found an old thread by Keele on the ECMLink forums where he mentions that you need the plugs from a 2G auto harness to make it work. You then solder the diodes between the two plugs(Neutral Safety Switch plug and the plug that attaches to the solenoids). The wires are then listed in the color orientation that he describes in the original link I posted. Now I just to figure out which wires go to what gear on the 2G as Keele just says "goes to solenoid" in his description.

this plugs into the neutral safety switch from the cars harness, I cut mine off to simplify

also my 2g wire colors are different, from the NSS on the 1g
the colors i have are.
1.big red. blue stripe -not needed
2.big black. white stripe - not needed
3.yellow. red stripe -goes to solenoids, attached like the 1g diagram shows
4.yellow - goes to solenoids attached like the 1g diagram shows
5.yellow. black stripe - goes to solenoids attached like the 1g diagram shows
6.white. black stripe - not needed
7.red. blue stripe - not needed
8.blue. red stripe - 12v power wire needed
9.black. yellow stripe - not needed
10.black - ground needed
11.black. red stripe - starter trigger wire needed

Keele- Do you tap in to the second connector at all that sits right next to the connector for the solenoids? You can see the two connectors in the third picture I posted.

Another question I have for you is you mention swapping the two wires around to not get confused on the solenoid plug, what exactly do you mean by that? Did you swap the pin in the plug or did you actually wire it different?

And the NSS plug makes a lot more sense to me now for some reason.

only the 2 wires going into your transmission in your photo, matter, your neutral safety will longer work
as a safety

2. I wired it different and marked it so in the future I wouldn't forget what I had done

Ok that is what I was wondering. Thanks for the help, I'm sourcing out the two plugs locally and will do a write up similar to yours once I begin the mod. Never hurts to have more than one write up.

I feel your pain, I was the first who trialed and error'd the 2g setup, you confusing yourself from my photo, here, the black wire and red wire are cut off disregarded gone, forever odious!!!!!!!

I bet this will make more since now! LOL
here is the Nss plug andd the above mentioned wire colors, the clip on plugs are facing upward.
I noticed on the solenoid plug, the grey actually plugs into the orange and the orange plugs into the yellow for some odd reason, Make sure you swap these around and don't get confused.

also the other plug does need to be pluged back in as it goes to your end clutches etc make sure your diades are facing the right direction, I'm out of the dsm's nowdays so doing a better write-up isn't worth my time, so please do, I get questions every year about how.

Thanks for all the pictures!

Found you don't have to plug anything in to that second connector that sits right next to the solenoid connector. That plug is the pulse generators which are not used if your not using a TCU.

One last question, is there not a second wire for the starter solenoid? My understanding is one was for input(from key) and the other was out(to the starter). I see in your diagram that there is just a "starter trigger wire". Run that wire to the butt connector that attaches to the starter solenoid and that's it?

see, it's been years, couldn't remember what they were, you def need to make a more readable write-up for people, but I'm glad I could help

and honestly, for that question I'd need to see the car in front of me, because I can't remember at the moment, but I know I never had any start issues how I had done it, worked fine for a year before I made a horn button paddle shifter with a shiftbox

Glad I was able to help u get it working, -and the nice write up
