So I Driven my car for the last few days now and a problem that has been on an off for a time is well back.

I will start the car and all seems well.. at random points I will be pressing on the gas pedal and It will start acting like its choking. If I lightly press the pedal it will stabilize a bit but if i give too much gas it will act like its getting no gas.

My First thoughts is that since the car has been sitting for the past month and a half the gas may have gone south. Is this really enough time for the gas to collect water and deposits?

My second thoughts as this problem has been around before is that maybe my injectors are dirty or getting bad. Does this sound like something that would happen?

Thought about Fuel pump but it does look as though it was replaced by PO before I got it. I guess this does not mean its not having issues but low on my list.

Also when i idle it starts to get kinda rough at times too.. under 1k rpm. If i give gas will recover.. Hence why I am wondering if its the injectors

Note: Not overheating as i know this can cause issues as well..

When scanned it does give off code for O2 however been awhile so will need to get this re scanned to update memory.

having a new pump does not mean it can not be defective from factory, with that being said you should check your fuel pressure to see if your pump is pumping the right pressure man.

Dragnous,

If you're throwing a CEL, that'd be a great place to start. Any codes related to bank 1 sensor 1 (front o2 sensor) could produce similar symptoms to what you describe. A bad front o2 sensor can easily throw off your A/F ratio producing a wide range of problems. Check the code before you go pulling things apart and buying replacements ;)

That seems very logical place to start thank you for the tips..

and The engine is stock from my knowledge however I have yet to pull the dash panels out to confirm. and I think they are stock injectors but again Will have to confirm.

Noob Q: which is the downstream and upstream.. was pre- looking up parts as I will get it tomorrow if it ends up being that sensor.

I have the same problem as you. I am assuming you don't have a wideband.
Your car is running rich and its choking on to much fuel.
With my problem I have to turn on power to the car BUT not start the car. Wait for my wideband to read error then I can drive the car somewhat normal but car still runs rich but driveable.
If I don't let the wideband read error and just i start driving, the car will run as you describe.
You're probably throwing o2 sensor code, most likely your o2 sensor is not heating up.
I have changed my front o2 sensor twice but the problem still exist, you might have a better chance then me because from what I read from others changing the front o2 helps.

For now try this to make it driveable, turn on your power but not start the car. Let it on for about 90 seconds then start the car. It will tell the ECU o2 sensor is not reading and drive the car is safe mode/ close loop.
It's a hit or miss sometimes and harder in colder winter weather. Good luck

Yea Ill have to try that out, I live in florida so the weather is not much of a problem.

No wideband, At lease I never installed on LOL.

I ordered a new o2 Sensor last night will be in by friday.. Got OEM Bosch o2 replacement. and Since it looks like my Fuel filter has never been changed I am gonna grab a new one tonight on way home from work..

Did not check codes yet, on way home from work tonight I am going to stop have have it scanned.
I do have a Brand new Replacement IAC since the junk yard replacement seems to be failing also.. this weekend i gotta swap it out.

I will post my code findings around 6 ish.

Code was read. Upstream O2 Sensor. ( Good thing its coming in today ).

Also I swapped out that stupid terminal connector that the PO had in there and put a Normal one and poof half the problem went away.

Well I thought was solved and I guess not now.. Sorry to bring up old topic

So since ive replaced still having a hard time getting the O2 Sensor to Work correctly.

Replaced and reset computer. and stil running rich and sensor not being detected.

my Question is. What is the best way to test the sensor itself to see if its working and on the other side are there any fuses for the o2 sensor systems for the GS's? May help to check if there is before I start using my volt meter.
