'91 GST. All stock. I'm looking to get a different bov that simply sounds louder. I do understand it needs to recirculate. Not trying to make my.car break or run like poo.

Any options out there?

I have seen that the 1gen bov is one of the loudest ones available. Unfortunetely if you want a louder bov you might have to get gm maf and maft and do a blow through set up.

Greddy type s is loud even recirculated
Yes they are very loud but the adjustment screw on top has been known to fail after awhile and will boost creep out of that hole due to the cheap metal that the hat is made out of. Only speaking from experience.

it all depends on your set up. if you're running a gm maf with the maft or speed density, you can run a vented bov. if you're stock then you'll need a recirculated bov. it'll run rich between shifts because its not seeing the already counted for air come back into the system. sometimes the car will die or sometimes it'll just have a little smoke come out.

Your comment has just answered a issue I was having with my GST LOL, gonna get a 1g BOV.

the smoking between shifts? had a buddy with a vented bov on a stock set up. drove behind him and saw it smoke. only thing changed was the bov went from recirculated to vented. any recirculated bov is good. especially greddy and tial. 1g crushed boc is a good cheaper upgrade

I am wondering, would it be possible to install the recirculation valve on the other side of the maf? Instead of it being on the turbo side, move it to the air filter side closer to the air filter. This may give you even more sound, although I am not sure if that would throw off the maf sensor or not.

Any BOV you install is not going to be as durable or perform as well as the one you're taking off. Figure a stock 1G BOV is 21-25 years old at this point...and many of them are still functioning perfectly to this day. A $200 Greddy valve would be on it's 6th diaphragm replacement by now.

If you want a louder valve release, do the supporting mods which will allow you to run more boost. If your stock 1G valve reaches a point that it begins to leak at whatever boost level you're running, do the Dodge Garage Mod and never look back.

Anything that needs a recirculating valve is fine with a 1G BOV....and if it doesn't need to recirculate, the TiAL valves are probably the best money can buy. Everything else is just money spent on noisier product that doesn't work as well as what it's replacing.
