There is already a thread for what you need. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/what-turbo-is-this-merged-turbo-id-identification.57878/

What would help ID the turbo, any serial numbers or marking on the turbo to help ID the model.

Next would be identifying this turbo by its measurements. Measurement the compressor wheel, inducer and exducer, and measurement of the turbine wheel, the same inducer and exducer

Its all in the details, so the more you can give us easier it will be for us to help you. More pictures of the turbo will help.

Once you ID the turbo, you can then decide if its too small or big, or just right for your setup. you should have a power goal in mind and then proceed. Since its a t3 turbo, you will need all aftermarket parts mounting and running this turbo

More pics will help. From the one you supplied I'm pretty sure it's a small T3 (A/R 0.5). You would be better off going with a 14B or larger. This is not a very large turbo, you would spend more money adapting it than staying in the MHI family.

I've seen people runnig the fp race manifold . Just wanna know what's the best bang for my buck, and would the tial 38 wastegate be compatible or ?

Got this t25 (as far as know) turbo and cast mani that was on a 1.8l NA miata for $60. Anyone able to tell what turbo I got?

The best idea I have is that it's an s13 t25 turbo.

Anyway to tell if it is a legit garrett? Does it have to be legit for a rebuild kit, from say ebay, to work?

Thanks!

Not one Garrett marking anywhere on the turbo....pretty safe to say it's an eBay special.

Definitely a TB25 originally-intended for a Nissan product....I normally caution anyone against using any turbo parts kits bought on eBay, but since the turbo likely came from eBay and cost $120 brand new- knock yourself out.

Thanks JusMX141,

I'll probably find an authentic CL one to rebuild, and see if anyone will buy this one off me.

Regarding the FP Black....make sure you know what you're buying before you buy it. Understand you're not likely to hit full boost until near 5000rpms and the turbo shouldn't be used at less than 30psi with full supporting mods and a built engine to make best use of the airflow it's generating at that boost level.

If none of your criteria fits within these parameters, you need a smaller turbo than the Black.

None of this should be discussed in the Turbo I.D. thread, however.

Sorry to hijack but I can't find as to what turbo these numbers associated with and its the only number is can see on the turbo. "48178-01" big thanks in advance!

That's all I can see on it without having to take it all the way off. I mean if I have to take it off I will just didn't know if someone had an idea

It looks like a "410" which is a 14b.

Can you post any other pics? One of the compressor wheel can help.

I will try getting more pictures this afternoon when I have the car up in the air to change the hubs out

This probably didn't help much but was the best angle I could get without pulling it off

Ok thanks for the help. He has a box with a 14b that t25 turbo and another turbo that is in pieces. The turbo that is in pieces has a garret inlet housing and an exhaust housing im not for sure if it is just a pieces together turbo of not. He also has a aftermarket smic and upper intercooler piping for 50 bucks. I think is is worth it to turn around and sell and part out.
