Hey guys does anybody know what size the bigger fitting (closest to the fire wall) is on the steering rack? This is for a 2G gsx, I'm just trying to reloop the power steering lines.
The one with out the barb fitting.

are those numbers confirmed? im about to do something similar and Id hate to order the wrong ones.

If you guys are just deleting powersteering and looping the line, why not just cut the tubes on the factory fittings, leaving just enough length to slide a hose onto the ends of the tubes and clamp??

And the fitings are absolutely m14 and m16 x 1.5, but it is a BUMPED TUBE fitting. You can buy male bumped tube x male -06 an adapters, screw em in, then put -06 female an fittings onto your hose if you like. Id just cut the factory tubes though, its cheaper, quicker and simpler.

I would just remove the inner seal and plug the lines making it closer to a Manuel rack. This way you are not trying to push fluid back and forth.

So I guess I'll take my chances. Im replacing them with SS lines and rerouting. thanks.

Are you saying you are wanting to keep a functional power steering system on your car but want to use a hose with a stainless, braided cover? If this is the case, you should not use the aluminum AN fittings, these are good for fuel and oil coolers and the like, and you can use one on the return side of the power steering system, but you should use a steel adapter on the high side as it is designed for the pressure you will see. Also, do not use the ss hose that everyone is using for fuel for the power steering high side, it is not desigined for that working pressure. Instead, use a -06 PTFE lined ss hose for this- its much lower profile hose and can be hidden easier too!
I am getting ready to redo my power steering setup myself. Ive got all the adapters and hose at my work to do this and when I do, Im going to post a tech article. Even though I will be doing this on my 1G car, the 2G guys should be able to utilize most of the information to do their own.
