I'm looking to do my own custom exhaust on my 97 gst. I have a greedy Evo 2 muffler that I want to use with the custom set up what size pipes should I use and what down pipe ? Any one have a video of their custom exhaust?

Well it kind of depends first off. What o2 housing are you using? That will help determine what downpipe to use. I would suggest 2.5/3 inch for a exhaust set up. I fabbed my own. But not everyone is a welder

2.5 for the DP is good as if you get or have a 16g it will help towards no boostcreep as 3" is too much on the DP unless your thoring down huge numbers! 3" from DP back is fine. I also built my own system but i have the Punishment racing o2 housing and that was 2.5" exit so i just stuck to that side from there.

Even 2.5" all the way through is more then enough to support a good amount of power so it depends on that aswell and 3" will give it a more deeper tone if you run no restrictors or silencers aswell,

I built my own, 2.5" dp, 2.5" from dp to back with a 3" stright through muffler and tip all in stainless steel, hope this helps

You cant go wrong With 3" pipe.Thats what I would do so if you ever upgrade you don't have to do it over.

You can actually. You can create boost creep morebor sid the arrival of it. Its not the best way to fox it but 2.5" is plenty good enough for 500-600 ish hp, granted porting the wg area and external is best but you can avoid it by at least keeping a 2.5" DP. There are plenty of threads on here about this and the majority of them pont this out aswell, so harm can be done by going 3" all the way. Again unless your making crazy numbers or running massive boost then this wont be an issue

After the down pipe ibthink it would be easy on these cars just get some extra pipe and practice only way to get better. I've made my own on some of my other cars I got better every time.

I built my own with 2.5" all the way back and a megan racing muffler. I also put in an exhaust cutoff before the cat for track days :)
