Looking at my next set of tires, primarily Ventus R-S3 Version 2s vs G-force Rivals (2013 Production). Anyone have experience with either of these or a suggestion on another tire?

Intended use is daily and occasional track days, extreme performance summer. Wet traction is of some concern
225/45/17 or something around there

Edit: Forgot to add, balling on a budget here. <$150 a tire

The bfgoodrich G-force rivals are very good for the $. Just don't go too crazy in rain. Ive ran 2 sets of them 225/45/17's.

I'm currently searching for 285/35/17's, but can't find any except for track only tires.

I wouldn't try the RS-3 If you care about wet handling. They do not perform well in the wet. I went through two sets on my evo. For your price range I liked the Kumho XS, Advan Neova AD07s, or the Direzza Z2 Star Specs. I have also heard the Potenza RE050 is also a good choice.

I know it not on your list but I have some ancient sumitomo htr on my car and they rock for traction and life. Really wide for the size my 225 measure what 245 or bigger normally does.

I was actually looking at the HTR ZIIIs for a quick minute because they are so cheap. I think I'm going to go with a tire that's more daily/wet friendly and get Michelin Pilot Super Sports now, they just put up a $70 rebate offer too
