Currently the only mod the car has is a 16g turbo, but I have a set of 550cc injectors I want to put in along with a walbro 255lph. Do I need an AFPR for this pump to work.

i ended up needing one with an evo VII pump.. stock fpr gave out completely. You can chance it. Honda will run wally 455 on stock reg. but you may force yourself into needing one when it does go.

i have a deatschwerks dw300 with stock regulator and it works just fine for me, granted its only been a couple months with that but it was on stock reg and a 255 before that for about a year no issues

I had a Toyota Supra fuel pump with no fuel pressure regulator and car ran fine . my fuel trims were perfect . Then when i rewired it the fuel pressure had to be under control with an updated regulator . So if you don't rewire it you should be fine .

Yes get an AFPR, some will say no while MOST will say yes. You will "most likely" overrun your stock fpr at idle and lower rpms and run a little rich. Also, do you have a way to tune for the 550's?
Yes I have a flashable 99 ecu. And can someone link me to a good AFPR please.

In general, the DSM community consensus is that an AFPR is not required for a 190 lph style pump. However, once you venture into 255 lph territory, an AFPR is required to prevent overrun. I personally prefer Aeromotive fuel pressure regulators. They have a great reputation in the DSM community along with many others.

Some other items I would recommend for your fuel needs are as follows:
  • New fuel injector seals
  • fuel pump rewire kit
  • sending unit seal for fuel tank
  • Gauge to set fuel pressure
BEFORE you install ANY fuel components, installing a boost gauge and wide band are essential to safe tuning/proper tuning. Also, try out the ECU Flash and EVO Scan software on a stock setup to see if it is something you feel comfortable working with before you install any upgraded fuel components. This way, if you decide ECU Flash is not for you, then you are not stuck uninstalling your fuel upgrades.
