i just finally got my car back together on Thursday I've been driving it since then and had no issues. Well I was just driving then saw my ABS light pop on and it was on for a few min then I came to a stop and the car died and it has no power to start back up. I have a bran new battery in the car. But I thought it was weird cuz I had no CEL or battery light on just the ABS light and the car died. I pop started it back up and got it started and it started sputtering like crazy and had no power what so ever it was almost like it had a bad boost leak the way it was sputtering but I just did a boost leak test yesterday and have none what so ever. I'm wondering if Mabey my alternator took a crap. But I need some help here guys in broke down in a parking lot!

Try charging the battery if possible to see if that fixes it. Also check your alternator belt tensioner, I lost one on the highway once and my car acted similarly to what you are describing, like my alt was going out but not quite dead.

No it would not crank on its own I had to have my dad come down and give me a jump with cables. It started right up and I left the cables connected for about 20 min I drove it almost 5 miles and it was fine again then when I got 5 blocks from my house the ABS light popped on again and it started sputtering really bad again then as soon as I pulled up to my house it died again and would not crank over...I'm really thinking it's the alternator but it's just weird cuz I have owned 4 1g's and every time an alternator would go I would get a battery light a CEL a brake light and an ABS light if the car was equipped with ABS. I'm stumped as of now think I might yank my alt off and get it tested and have the battery charged and tested

I know you mentioned its new but to me this is just screaming bad battery.

I highly recommend brining the battery to your local parts store and have them run a FULL battery test on it ( not with their hand held machine but the full simulated testing machine). Also check the date sticker on your battery to see how old it is.

Before getting dirty try getting the voltmeter out and do some quick diagnosis.

Check the battery voltage right now, check to see if your seeing the same at the alternator stud? Charge the battery up and measure the voltage after removing the charger while the engine is running.

These tests will provide a first order check on the alternator fuse and alternator as well as verify the car died because the voltage dropped below 8v while running. You may still want to measure the resistance between the B+ stud and battery connector but it's not that common for the cable to be shot compared to blowing the fuse or having a dead alternator.
