I'm looking for a budget t3 flanged exhaust manifold. All I've been able to find are $1000+ pieces and I'm not looking to spend nearly that much. I would actually prefer to run the stock manifold or FP but the cost of an exhaust housing with wastegate flange would offset the savings of the cast piece

While on topic, what's the biggest turbo you can mount on a stock manifold? I'm looking to be in the 500whp range. Thanks guys

Here I'll give you some quick ones to think about,
T3 open: turbonetics/treadstone cast manifold with 2 bolt flange. ERL cast manifold with v band gate pipe.
Or you could be really cheap and get a Megan racing one and use hopes and dreams it won't crack.
Or,
Stock mitsu flange: old school SBR/hafe cast manifold with a gate mounting point, also a 2 bolt I believe. Then there's welding onto the stock cast manifold which has yielded success for some.

I should have mentioned I'm not talking Megan racing budget. Has anyone had success with a T3 adapter for the stock manifold? I can get Borg Warner turbos for very cheap so I am leaning towards running one of those but if it makes it more of a headache than just running something like an FP Red, then I will just go that route

THEN WHAT ARE YOU DOING LOL! Go get that Borg warner, I also just messaged bullseye to see if they still make the dsm housings for the s200 series, if they get back to me I'll post here also, because that may be if interest to you.

An FP mani, FP black will only set you back like 1200 bucks or so. It's very inexpensive for the power it has been proven to make.
You COULD go internally gated with the black. Idk. They don't recommend it. I ran internal gating on a 5558 and had no issues at all. COuld keep it at 12psi with no spikes all the way up to 33psi.

I've been running a HY35 or HE351 on a treadstone/godspeed turbonetics manifold for the last 4 years, with an internal gate. Rock solid setup. Cheap. Find a buddy to weld you up a cheap O2 housing and your in buisness.

That's why I'm asking about a cheap(er) t3 manifold. Definitely let me know what BW says

If ya gotta go cheap then what Bastard suggested. Might take a minute to find those manis, haven't been in production for awhile if i'm not mistaken.

*just did a quick ebay search. Found some cheapies that look like godspeed-type manis. The ones with the 38mm gate provision on the 1 runner. They're like 150 bucks, they're cast....That's probably your best avenue for super cheap and having a chance to last. The tubular manis that are under 800 bucks are worthless from everything i've read.
Type in dsm t3 cast manifold on ebay, you'll see what i mean.
Here's one of many:

If at all possible please try to support the vendors.

Somebody was knocking the treadstone T3 piece the other day on the the Galant forums. Looked like a decent quality manifold from the looks of it...Especially for the price :idontknow:

How did you end up handling the clearance issues with the turbo hitting the block, or did it?

DNP.... Had a 550-650 option And the fp black has horrid reviews of how it spools slow for it's size and doesnt make it's advertised power, ive never owner on but a good friend has one right now and wishes he didn't. Turbo works fine... Just not what it should be. That said. The FP3586 (dsm86)will bolt on. I think the new ones are xona rotor though And it has been proven to make over 7000hp but if your on a budget I'd do an hx40 .55 for now until you can afford a good t3 manifold. The STM used to be 850 but went up to 1300

I got my FP black in today. Yea..........i can tell without a doubt there's no WAY it flows 68lbs/min. I didn't want to drop 2k if i was just shooting for 500whp(through an AT). The 86 is perfect but i would rather go t3 at that juncture.
I have seen evo dynos of 650whp with the black but that's a bit different. I'm not 100% but i believe they are divided and larger turbine housing.
Honestly i was a little shocked when i opened the box. It looks like a big turbo in a small package. I will be content with 60lbs/min i'm looking for out of it.
I feel pretty confident that i will. achieve that given what i saw from a smaller choked up 5558. Everything else is ready to flow that much air, even the stock IM have seen over 650whp(neat fact)
Shit, hijack hijack!!!!!
Where are my manners.

To the point: I don't think OP is looking to drop that kind of money, i think the guy is talking like CHEAP cheap. your turbo recommendation is 100% spot on. The BEP bolt on isn't gonna flow the potential but the t3 housing with the 60mm WILL. I've heard rumors of 70lbs/min!!!!! From a $300 turbo, god damn LOL

Hey kyle, is it true the new 6466 does NOT have water cooling? Justin told me that in another thread. I know he hates PTE but man, that is crazy.

None od the new ballbearing CEA turbos have water cooling. Mine has been fine.

I saw 67lb a min calibrated with myhx40 at 38psi on the t3 .70. I'm trying to work with a few tuning/spool issues with the 6466 but with a low boost est (under inflated) I'm seeing 57lb per min at 30psi in the 1.15AR.

I wouldn't say CHEAP cheap but if I'm not looking to drop $1k on a manifold, I definitively don't want to drop $2k on a turbo. This car is a lets see how fast we can go for as little money type of thing. I was really looking into the hx35 and hx40 turbos with the bep housings on stock manifolds. They seemed quite promising for the money

For what it's worth. On the hx40 .55 bolt on housing with a DNP stock flange manifold and on only 20psi i made close to 400whp on english racing's dyno at 20psi spiking to 22psi. And that turno doesnt wake up til the mid 30's where it really starts to flow. I never had it up past 30psi on the bolt on housing with pump gas but the .70 when you get thete is a worth while upgrade when you go t3 sacrifice a little lag for big flow. So if 22psi makes almost 400on 92oct piss gas... Id imagine 30psi on 94 oct or around or with meth you would be somewhere close to your goal and with room to grow. The 35 will be tapped out at around 500

Thanks for the very helpful response. That pretty much made up my mind on what to run. I have 100 and 110 at the pump less than a mile from my house so if I ever need the extra octane, I can always add a gallon or 2 to the tank. I was also thinking about running a small nitrous setup depending on how the spool is

What did you have done to your engine internally?

From what I've found, the hx40 with bolt on housing will be plenty for what I'm after. Injectors will most likely be the limiting factor for me

Run e 85 with bolt on housing for now till you can afford good t3 manifold. I've been running the .55 AR for fee years gonna try e85 in the spring. I holp to see at least 550 wheel. The only down fall is you'll need I'd say at least 1600cc injectors

Definitely can't run e85 since there aren't any stations close to me. I'm planning on 1000cc+ or if some 2150 or 2200's come up used, I'll buy those

. ERL cast manifold with v band gate pipe.
Iv been actively looking for one and it seems that ERL has discontinued these manifolds. Which is unfortunate because that was always the best designed manifold in my option. I have looked and I can't find them, any one know if we can still get these?

Youll definately max out 1000's on the bolt on hx40 if not itll be close like 80%IDC if i recall

If you are still looking for a manifold this winter and havnt found one i can make you one that is pretty simple stock placement out of sch10 304Ss purged and ported(same material all the good manifolds are made out of stm, jmf, ETS, etc..)I'm just not setup right now due to a move in the works.
