History:
This car was the 1 of 6 DSM I have own that I wouldn't even think about bringing out of the garage on a rainy day. That was until September 2013 when it spun a rod bearing because of dropped oil pressure and I decided it was time for a complete transformation.

Goals:
My goal is mainly to enjoy building and driving my car. I plan on participating in Silver State Classic Challenge, Redline Time Attack, and other various events in the future.

Current Progress:
VRSF FMIC
Megan Racing short shifter
Megan Racing coilovers
RM Racing swaybars
Paul Volk tubular subframe
3G Upper rear control arms
Non-cruise cable
EGR delete
6 point roll cage
Sparco Pro ADV seat
ViS Racing Hood
ViS Racing Hatch
ECMLink V3 Full
1G BOV
Big 16G turbo
ACT flywheel
Rewire
Weight reduction

Future Plans:
All parts with a * located after them are purchased and waiting for proper time to install
Block stroker rebuild
Head rebuild
Transmission rebuild
ABS delete*
ETS FMIC*
Speed density
JMF intake manifold
FP exhaust manifold*
S90 7Omm throttle body*
EVO8 rear differential LSD swap*
Frontline Fabrications rear differential cover
Frontline Fabrications transfer case brace
Fuel cell*
Dual Bosch 044 and Aftermarket Industries sump*
Accusump oil accumulator or Magnus dry sump
AEM Infinity EMS
Ingersoll-Rand 3-port solenoid*
Enkei RPF1 wheels
Polycarbonate
Body stitching
More rewire
More weight reduction

Side Note:
All the work done to this car is done by me with the occasional help from a friend or family member. That being said, I am a medically retired disabled veteran and sometimes I have troubles working. This means that my build progress is not always consistent, but I will try to post journal updates as much as possible.

Thank you for your service good sir, i hope as a medically retired veteran things are still well for you.

Even as a shell the car looks great and I look forward to updates.

Do you plan to stay with the 16g or move to something larger?

Welcome, you are in the right path.

May I give you some suggestions.

You only have a 6 point roll cage, you need to go to the front shock towers or get a brace like the one a member makes in the forum, sorry I dont know how to link but if you search you will find it.

Do you have an under dash bar if not, you should, also you could mount your steering shaft to it and save a lot of weight.

Do also under door bars from your front hoop to main hoop or floor bar at B pillar.

Your greatest weight savings will come from the doors, rear hatch and hood in that order.

Plexiglass for rear glass and side windows, lexan for front windshield.

Do not skimp on brakes, that should be your main priority, try to go with something besides the evo front if you can afford it.

Glad to see more people involved in road racing, good luck.

Thanks for the support guys!

The car runs and drives with no issue. When the bearing spun replaced the engine with another and put the original on a stand for rebuild.

I am going to stay with a the 16g for the time being, but eventually planning on going with the gtx30r or gtx35r

In the RLTA rules it says the roll cage may not protrude the firewall with the exception for the unlimited class. So I am unable to reach the front shock towers. I have seen the brace that is made by a member of the forum, but he only makes them in batches occasionally. At some point I will be sure to stiffen the front of the chassis one way or another.

I do have an under dash bar and altered the mount for the steering shaft because I had to move it to the left. With the center hump that covers the drive shaft and resonator I could only mount the seat so far to the right so I had to make the steering shaft move to the left.

I was thinking about doing the under door bars at some point. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Polycarbonate windows are on the list of future plans

I agree that brakes are very important. Have been thinking about going with Wilwood brakes, but plans are still up in the air. I definitely won't be doing any track driving without that upgrade.

On the under dash bar and steering shaft, what I mean is get rid of the steering shaft bracket and cover and only use the shaft itself mounted to an adjustable bracket or a heim joint or a pillow block to the under dash bar, dont know if your rules will allow.

Of course no provision for anything else but you will save about 12 pounds.

Love it. Ill be peeking in on the build to see progress! I love road race builds!

As said by others, thank you so much for your service, it is appreciated beyond words.

I apologize for the lack of updates lately. My spare time has been consumed by family and other cars. During the time I have been MIA I have mainly been working on rewire, removing 10lbs. This Memorial Day weekend, while I had family visiting, we dropped the original subframe to replace it with the tubular model designed by Paul Volk. Also, removed the fuel tank and replaced the upper control arms with 3g style. A bracket for the new fuel cell still needs to be made before being installed.
