Went through a rough street (pothole wise) and after i came out the car was making this loud rattling noise.

Thats the noise it's making it sounds like its coming from the upper part of the motor, right next to the serpentine belt (power steering and a/c), if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

The doorman's come with life time warrenty there a direct oe replacement ,

But I would caution you that there around 140$ , so if it ain't broke leave it LOL

An easy way to check is remove all the belts , and if you can move where the two parts of the pully's are attached with the rubber it is most likely eating away at your timing cover (not good because it can eat your timing belt too) I have a picture to kinda explain a failed harmonic balancer

one second,
Edit: if you look closely you can see how they are attached with a rubber strip, this is the fail point,

You can also see that the outer pully is shiny that's from eating my timing cover

Mine failed from either from age/wear or oil contamination and heat cycles probably didnt help , and it looked original too

Before you even touch the new one (Don't install it if your harmonic balancer Is in good shape so you can return that sucker with out incident)

It's very simple to remove the balancer it's 4 bolts , don't touch the big middle bolt

If it's not your balancer than you have a possible bearing failure somewhere weather it be a power steering pump or Alt or even a crappy water pump LOL and god forbid a internal part, but I'm just speculating hah

let me know how the diagnostics come out

Turned out to not be the Harmonic tensioner had it replaced but the noise is still consistent.

Sounds like an exhaust type leak. Have you checked all the exhaust connections to see if a bolt came out?

At this point could be a lot of things ,

Have you checked your timing components ?
Any noticeable play on the crank?

Stuck lifters?

Ac condenser makeing noise?

I'm kinda stumped

Have you checked your flex pipe out?

the timing belt and bearings were all blown, replaced them all, runs and sounds great! appreciate the help

Damn good thing you caught it early , the last thing you want is bad timing components, and no problem glad you got her running clean!

Mine were very bad like yours I had two weeks of hell driveing around to work and back , did you use mitshubushi components?
