Hey everyone just thought I would post some pics of what left of the trans that came out of the car I bought a few months back...about 5 months ago I purchased a 92 TSI and I had bought it with some trans issues as it would not go into 1st gear when I started taking the car apart I had noticed the long trans mount bolt was almost all the way out of the mount along with no rubber in the mount at all and the previous owner was actually driving the car the the trans sitting about 3inches lower from the mount itself....well here is what I found and what's left of the transmission and I do not think it is salvageable

Thats what happens when the bearings go bad and it gets ignored. Dont throw the whole thing away. Some parts are hard to get if needed.

The previous owner of my car left out the starter plate, trans fluid(it had fluid when I first checked it before buying, not second when it was bought) and lastly he never mounted the tranny to the body mount. -_-

I do have a 90 trans that has good bearings but no third.

Forgot you said awd.....sorry. v.v

Yea it really sucks when a previous owner decides to ignore everything then the new buyer pays the price. It's a good thing I have a spare AWD trans that just has a slight second gear grind...I just need to find the motivation to get the good trans out of my parts car LOL

the best way to eliminate second gear grind is with a late 2g 2nd gear, they have double synchro and are cheap to buy
evo 1st gear is even better, cause its taller, closer to second= less likely to grind

Yea I was planing on getting a build done by jacks with the Evo gears but my brother decided to steal 3 of my handguns one being a $1300 kimber my AR-15 and my shotgun and $3400 in cash from me so that ruined all my plans. And I don't kno if I'm gonna go to the extent of fixing the second gear grind on my spare trans I just want to get it in and drive the car bc I haven't even got the chance to drive it since I got it bc of the trans issues it had...but I did end up ripping out the gear sets last night out of the trans I posted pics up so if anyone needs anything out of the trans I will gladly help someone out if they need something all I ask is pay shipping cuz the stuff is just gonna be taking up space

i just went through the same thing, you live and learn. inspect and hold on to any good parts off the trans, you never know when you need them.

Yea I kno about jacks already kinda sucks but there is a few other reputable places that can do a build but I'm gonna get my other trans in that has the slight second gear grind so I can get the car drive able again

Ahh screw the JB weld this time I've used it for many thing but not this time I just got my other teams in and fixed my engagement issues yesterday as I followed the jacks transmission you tube video for proper instructions...it's a little notchy and really notchy at first start up but it works great so far now to get my boost/vac issues fixed. Well I think that's my issue I'll have to mess with it today
