I just got married yesterday, July 17th, and we got tons of wedding gifts. One of my favorite gifts by far is the one I got from my cousin.

He just so happens to know the guy who was the design team manager for the 2g Dsm!! How freaking cool is that?!?!? He goes to the same church as him up in Boston.

So here are the 2 pics he got for me and the guy even signed one. So cool to see something like this since the internet wasn't really around back then.

You can see some things made it in to final production between the eclipse and the talon.

Enjoy guys and gals!

I am off on my honeymoon tomorrow but when we get home I will scan these in and post some high quality scanned in versions.

That's pretty amazing. Thanks for posting them.

After looking at them a bit, I have to wonder if the 2Ga and 2Gb had their exteriors designed at the same time.

Yea it almost looks like they were designed around the same time. Makes you wonder why they went the route they did (2ga then 2gb).

I freaked out when when my cousin told me he knew this guy. Going to see if I can get some more from him. I'm sure the guy has a ton of these pics.

That's awesome! I am a nerd when it comes to concept artwork. So seeing this just made my day!

That is one awesome wedding present!

If you contact him, I'd pay you for one of the drawings! :)

Thanks for sharing. I would have freaked out as well! I've always wondered about the guys who designed the DSM. The 2g is just so beautiful!!! They are certainly talented. I would love to take that guy out for dinner.

You gotta ask him if the hood bulge was meant to be or if they just measured wrong and needed to include it. They probably measured correctly but I've always wondered.. :)

If the eclipse ever makes a comeback with a turbo awd platform, it should look exactly like the red car. It's like a futuristic 1g.

I think it may make a come back. Probably has a hybrid ecoboost type car though. If they do AWD again I think it will be based off the Evo platform and it will probably use something more along the lines of the 4b11 rather than the 4g63. Even though I think it would be amazing to see the 4g63 come back, the 4b11 has been doing great for the fact that it is a aluminum block. If you don't believe me, just look at what Lucas did with his Evo X recently.

I would actually like to see options on these cars for different boost levels based off driving preference and ethanol content. It would be great to have different power options for pump and E85 like some cars have, as well as being able to throw it in eco mode or performance mode. Maybe even a low boost mode since I'm surrounded by mountains so that I can climb the hills with out wasting too much gas.

I've daily driven my DSM for 60,000 miles now and really wish it got better gas mileage.

My guess is if they do a hybrid set up, it will be a lot like the new F1 cars where it doesn't add too much weight but will assist under acceleration. It would be awesome to have it assisting acceleration between shifts as well.

Sorry guys been a crazy couple months. Just started my masters in Mechanical Engineering so I have had my hands full with that.

Here are the high res scanned in versions of these pics. They are hosted on photo bucket.

That's all there is for the black and white. It's just cut off like that...

The hood bulge from what I have read on here was a carry over from the 1g but the 1g actually needed the hood bulge to clear the timing cover of the 4g63.
