I have no idea on the exhaust- but he responded just below my post, so maybe he'll comment. :)

I'm confident a 56/86mm compressor will outflow a 51/68mm compressor by a fair amount. :p

My car isn't an hx40, but went 137 weighing 3300 with the little HY35, but I blew a few of them up doing it.
Something's wrong...that full-weight 2G my buddy Gabe ran a HY35 on a few years ago trapped 133-134 pass after pass and I never touched that turbo beyond the initial rebuild when he bought it from me.

I'm curious as to what turbine housings all you guys are using.

Im on a BEP 70AR

@doesitonall4rs what does your car weigh?

Last time i weighed it it was around 2700, I have taken about 100+ lbs out of it since then but havent weighted entire car yet, im suspecting its some where in the 26XX range.

I disagree that it's "all in the tune"..."the tune" is nothing magic, and without a good selection of parts it's worthless.

Depends who tunes the car, most shop tuners dont get nearly as aggressive they tune for safe reliable power. Thats why I says "all in the tune"

I went 12.2@118 and 1.9 60ft with a junk trans on the BEP t3 7blade hx40 on 25 psi. I tried 30psi and I ripped a cheap coupler in half at the 8th.

I went 9.6@144 with my fwd 2g. I went 9.7@146 with the t3.70 ar back housing. 1.5x 60fts and about 35-38lbs of boost. I'm still in the processor getting it dialed in with the current setup(k272s and a t3 .82 ar back housing)

What kind of gains, if any, are you seeing with the .82 vs. .70? And spool difference? Definitely keep us posted on how this is working out. Also, which T3 .82 turbine housing? (i.e., Make: Garrett, PTE, etc., Style: 4-bolt, 5-bolt, 3" Vband outlet, etc.)

X2 what housings are you using?

The car is already working for 1 month no complain about installation i have take my dnp tubular header cut the flange put angle shim and weld the v band ... For the spool i dont know if they good because i have nothing to compare i have light weight mirage 2200lbs ( less engine load )fwd big smim lightweight flywheel kelford272 1g head ported and big intercoolee whit 2.5 tube and the the bigest ar/82 housing i see 20 psi by 5200rpm i dont realy i this is what i want because im fwd and the car are easy to move all the mod i have slow my spool just the IM and cam have lost maybe 700rpm

It's a big more laggy and made the same power on the dyno but it went quicker and faster. The 9.7@146 was a perfect night. Every other night it was 9.9-10.0@140-143. It went 9.6@144 with the new setup at 1pm in 95* weather.

It's a precision 6262 t3 .82 v band outlet.

Hi how much lagier compare to rhe ar/70 and what about your spool i can compare to my set up thanks

I love seeing this turbo making so many fast passes, I went 10.86@134 on only 28psi. This was on street tires also with 1.7 60ft. Hoping for low 10s with another pump and slicks. Full weight 2g

I went 9.94 i have a t3 bep housing, my car weighed like 3100ish with me in it. I have nitrous, new converter, slicks, a few small upgrades and hopefully a much lighter car this coming year. Unfortunately im limited to 2.3L in an auto, only time will tell if i can get this car to work with the new set up.
Car is a 2g trying to run 40psi but i tapers off to 37-38psi at high rpm. logs show 75lbs per min of air. My dyno graph and time slip are on my profile. Only made 37psi on the dyno for some reason.

I did a 12.1 Friday on 22 psi, my first full run ever at the track. I know this thread is about going 9's, but I was stoked. Going back Friday with more boost.

Did you ever go back?

Been awhile since anyone posted here. I only had one chance to get to the track this year. Ran 11.9, let off at the 1/8 mile mark and coasted through. The used sinister converter I bought ended up being extremely loose (35% slippage loose!). Tried to change a few things up and nothing worked. Shipped it out via usps and they lost the converter and I never insured it. Bought the sinister c2 spoolinator in November went to install it and the thrust washer was broke during shipping. So no new updates until next year. Has anyone else got anything to report?

I'm building a motor right now and plan to get one of tubolab's .82 housings to max my hx40 out before moving up to a 6466 or hx52. Hoping for high 9's. Itll be a while, but I will be sure and update this thread with my results once its back up. Sorry for the default " im going to be doing this" reply the forum is plagued with.

I have been giving this some thought, but I am on the 66mm version. Don't know if it's necessary just yet. I am going to start a build thread. Last year it was 2780, over the past winter I took out a few more things but I think the auto brought some of the weight back. I have a few more things up my sleeves. We all need to get there.

I wont be anywhere near that weight. Ill probably be 2900-3000 at best just because I refuse to lose all the amenities so I'm going with the "max the turbo and run what it runs" route. Has anyone dyno'd a hx40 with a bigger wheel than a 60mm? I have a cast bae 62mm wheel but I would venture to say it does not help at all over a 60mm.
