I came close, but the stock bottom end let loose before I could try. I went 10.33 @ 136 at 37-38 psi on a 6-blade HX-40.

I'm hitting the track for the first time Friday. I highly doubt I will be in the 9's until I get a double pump set-up on the car. But 9's is the goal. Stick with the holset if you need more upgrade to the 66mm.

I am aiming for high 9's on my new setup with the T4 Super40. I would like to see some of other guys setups with the hx40 that are in the low 10's and high 9's.

Do you mind telling me your current setup? With maybe a few pictures.
Ya for some reason it wont let me update my profile. Its a 10.5 Wiseco/Manley 2.0 setup, Kelford 272s, stock intake mani, twin scroll hx40 60mm, FIC 2150s, Walbro 450intank feeding a Bosch 044 inline, Bradco converter, welded center diff, and anything else just ask. The 9.5 pass was on only 35psi with a very soft 1.5 60' so there is a ton left in the setup. Top picture is the most recent one and the only picture I have of the new setup but not much has changed

It's crazy seeing some of the trap speeds you guys get. I went 126 on a 56mm with 2 bent valves. Rebuilt my head, put fresh rings in the block, replaced a piston due to a busted ringland, went to a 62mm wheel, degreed cams, full fuel upgrade, went to sd and a 4" intake, dropped about 100lbs, new electric system, kiggly beehive springs giving me 1k more powerband usage and I picked up 1mph up top. I just replaced my cyclone with a smim but I don't see myself gaining more than a couple more mph from it. I've run up to 33 psi and still can't get any gains. Obviously my .55/fp manifold is somewhat inefficient, but I wouldn't expect it to restrain me to this extent.

What turbine housing are you using and how much boost are you able to build on the line?

The .55 housing sont get you very far neithernwill low 30''s psi.

The twin scroll housing is bigger flowing then the .70AR.

Pretty glad i upgraded I'm on twin scroll now also and just got the car going yesterday again. Good luck to all you getting into the 9's I'm with the other guys it's all in the tune and driving. My driving wasnt the greatest but hit 133mph trap and then decided I'd go precision. My hx40 had more in it but i was sick pf fighting compressor cover snap ring leaks that just would not seal no matter what

Evidentially 35 psi and some black magic is good for another 15 mph somewhere after looking at @beansblacktsi results. People always say it's in the tune and driving but I genuinely don't understand how people can claim it's all in the tune. In the 1/4 after the launch you use like 1/100th of the ecu's timing, afr, and ve cells. If you're seeing your target afr And timing I don't understand how anyones car can be so superior. I'm not targeting anyone here or anything, I just never understand how people claim the tune is some special aspect that makes their entire build. If there's some other aspect of tuning that makes a substantial power difference I'm interested.

Id love to hear some of yalls weights and a/r also. I've been wanting to move up to a .70 a/r for a few years now but it's hard to justify a few more mph at the expense of an entire new exhaust setup.

My car isn't an hx40, but went 137 weighing 3300 with the little HY35, but I blew a few of them up doing it. I've ran basically the same on a HE351 which is an HX40 compressor in a tiny hotside, the turbo lasts much better though.

I disagree that it's "all in the tune"..."the tune" is nothing magic, and without a good selection of parts it's worthless. You need to concentrate on getting the air into and out of the turbo easy. I think that's where the biggest gains are.
