Has anybody noticed that the egr only flows into cylinder 4 and does anyone know how that would affect performance on that cylinder in the long run because I swear every time I had low compression it was always that cylinder going out first.

I have read that there are cases of more wear in cylinders with EGR because of abrasive material in the exhaust gas that is blown back into the cylinder causing premature wear. I don't know if this is true for our cars but its possible. My girlfriend just got rid of her Altima because it was burning oil pretty bad and it seems to be a common problem with cars like hers because the cat is right below the exhaust ports on the head and it causes exhaust gas & crap to make its way back into the cylinders and causes premature wear on the rings & cylinders. I don't think that removing the EGR gives any performance gains but it may help in the long run with keeping the engine cleaner. They did not put them on the EVO III or on cars in countries that don't require the same emissions equipment as here.
