I am new to dsmlink and speed density and understanding it. I was wondering if i get speed density can i delete my MAF sensors on my harness for my wire tuck. Will i ever need it again? How do i hook my mitsu-style speed density to my harness. I understand kind of. Can i have some help on this. Thanks.

By Mitsu style I am 99.9% sure you mean the Omni sensors in the 3, 4, or 7 BAR variety which looks the same as the 2g MDP sensor that sits top center on the intake manifold. That is the same sensor I use on my SD setup and it is literally a direct bolt on. Meaning, remove the MDP stock sensor with two bolts, screw in the new Omni sensor, and use the same factory connector to plug it in! After that configure DSMLink inputs as according to the Wiki/instructions and away you go.

As to what you wish to do with the remaining MAF harness, thats gonna be up to you. If you have any intention of selling the car in the future, I would just tuck it away leaving it in tact. Your reverse sensor, fan, BCS (probly deleted), fuse box, etc are all still there and the MAF harness has some easy to tap wires like the baro circuit that can be useful for modding. If you must delete completely the car will do fine after the SD converion, but hiding it may be the better long term choice! GL with your build...

ok I under stand the Omni goes were the stock MDP sensor was on manifold. Then just use old plug on that correct?

And to wire the IAT sensor were do i wire that in too? And I just what to remove MAF and wire the IAT in What to wires do i hook up IAT to?

Read up on this link has all the info for sd and IAT...To make your life easier they have a plug n play cable to your maf plug and am mdp adapter straight to your IM for clean install of the Map

Ok thank you both i got it now i was confused and couldnt find my awnser. I also want to ask when i use speed density for the first time before i start my car will i need to do anything like building a table for it or graph?

There's a default table. Open ECMlink, select the "Speed Density" tab.

Just wanna know how do you run your speed density? The mitsu-style or GM style?

If you have a 2g, and you do, get the Mitsu-style. This one uses a plug and play OMNI MAP sensor. It replaces the MDP sensor which is worthless as far as I can tell.

If your are replacing your stock 2g intake manifold with a different type, or have a 1g, get the universal or "gm style" kit.

Ok thanks thats what i am going to get. The mitsu-style kit. I still have stock manifold and am just gonna run that for awhile.

Ok so pins 72 and 92 are the wires i use for the IAC. What do i do with the rest of my wires? Delete them?

My advice would be to get the plug and play harness that plugs right into the MAF connector. There is enough play in the harness that you can neatly tuck it away somewhere and its always there if you wanna go back or sell the car. I use a gm style because I have a smim I'm gonna bolt on soon. I also took mine to a shop for a tune since I only drive in the summer and wanted it at full potential instead of me on the learning curve.

Sure, I'd check a wiring diagram though some of them probably have splices that you may or may not need. It will also tell you what exactly your removing. Just trace it all the way until it ends and depin the connector.

Ok i finished the removing wires on MAF to the two for SD. Now need some more help. I want to know how everybody has ran there wideband? Do you delete all o2 wire on your set-up or just weld another bung? What is my best option to make clean on this set-up?

You CAN mount the wb in the front o2 spot and delete the original wires. Link has narrowband sim function. That said, if i were to do it again, i would probably keep the front o2 sensor and wire the lc-1 in to the rear o2's input at the ecu. Just weld a bung in down lower but not too far. Maybe 24" down. You still want response time to be quick. Its a balancing act, too far and its not as quick in reading afr, too close and you shorten the life of the sensor. A heatsink made from copper can be very very effective at making the wb last longer in the front o2 spot, I should add.

Im not 100% sure how good NB sim is, but it did seem to work quite well for me and plenty of others use it. So, its up to you. Simply to answer: yes you can delete the front and rear o2 wiring. I mean, obviously dont unpin it from the ecu socket LOL, but otherwise you're good to go

Have you completed this, and deleted the wires? I've been looking all over this and other DSM sites for a definitive answer on these questions. I am right now deleting every sensor and all wiring not needed. Wish there was a really good write up specifically on it.
Anybody know why this knock wire is hooked up like this with a ground wire coming out of black tacky goop?? Looks rigged??

Everyone will delete different wires as to what sensors or accessories they are keeping...I am currently working on deleting every wire from my entire car that I will not be using and re-routing/building every harness to path it as I would like. Not a job for the weak minded.

The knock sensor harness is supposed to have a grounded wire mesh cover over the knock signal wire to protect it from electrical noise.

I am doing basically a full race harness as well. I am not keeping Anything I don't absolutely need to run the car. I have my entire harness out of the car and stripped. Took a bit of the wires out already.
The knock sensor has the green cover around the wires but it is hard grounded to 2 different spots (near the sensor & near the ecu) does it need double grounded like that? Can I delete timing & fuel check connectors?

I just made everything as simple as i can. If im not using the sensor its gone. You can deleate brake switch, hood pop sensor, list goes on. I got rid of alot. Just figure out what you want to get rid of first.

^^Right, all that easy stuff is deleted. And I have yet to see anybody ever mention these RED loomed wires and connections. Along with the black thin boxes, can they be removed?

And what about the noise condenser hooked up to the stock IM, can it be used somewhere else? I see a lot of people with full race builds and keep the fuel solenoid, any reason for that other than sh** cold idle? Like I said it's a full race harness so Absolutly everything but the necessary sensors or relays to run the car and its component must go.

You can ditch the fuel solenoid , as for the condenser I'm not sure
