So I've been 'hanging' around here for awhile and just recently registered maybe a few months ago..
I feel like an extreme outcast here though but the 2gnt forums are kinda.. dead..

Currently I own:

1995 GS - 57xxx miles
BC stage 2 NA cams
BC springs
New lifters/rockers
Stainless valves with new stem seals
Angle job on valve seats and light port
OBX adjustable cam gears
17" Konig wheels w/ 225/45ft 245/45rr

1996 GS - 97xxx miles (currently awaiting turbo)
Wiseco 8.8 pistons and rings
Eagle rods
Mopar and ACL main and rod bearings
Balanced and blueprinted
Crane 14 cams
BC springs and retainers
2.4 lifters and rockers
AEM Tru time cam gears
ARP main, rod, and head studs
Mechanical timing belt tensioner
Gates kevlar timing belt
Melling oil pump
KYB struts w/ Megan springs
18" Enkei wheels w/ 235/40ft/rr

1999 GS - 124xxx miles - gave to my stepson
Automatic
CAI is all
Put a set of 17's on there for him.

1995 GS - 4 year race build, never completed.
Turning it into a parts car.
Everything on it is still brand new, albeit ~4 years old.
Bottom end the same as my 96 all the way built and bored
I don't remember the cams in it but the top-end is completely done up.
Turbonetics T4 w/ FMIC
Turbonetics WG
HKS BOV
Full Greddy exhaust
ACT clutch
Sparco reclinable racing seats
Sparco pedals
Sparco shifter
Eibach suspension
- Unfortunately this one never got finished and doesn't look like it's going to. About to turn it into a donor car for my '96 and start selling crap off of it and just take the loss. Can't even imagine how many $1000's are in it but... oh well.

So, yea, that's 4 of them... I have a problem.
My wife wishes DSM never existed.
I've actually tried getting her into one of them but she refuses. She will barely ride with me as it is. She will stick with her CR-V.
I can't imagine the man-hours I've put into all of these over the years..
My license plate on my dd reads- RUN DSM

But yea, HI, n stuff.

It seems most in this forum are 4g63 till the day they die
Don't get me wrong it's a great platform especially having a near AWD super car for only 10-15k investment but the 420a is a highly capable motor especially if you get the project car for the right price!
I appreciate your love for the 420a I will be working on building and boosting my 1998 gs this year

I have mad love for all my DSM brothers (and sisters), whether it be the 420a, the 4g63 or a drop-in.
I love all my 1g and 2g's. Cant stand that nasty 3g or the 4g.

So they all have 420a's?
Yup.. I got stuck on them. I have some sort of sickness I think.
I never bought my a GS-T or GSX. For some reason I prefer doing everything myself. It feels good.

I made the mistake when I was much younger of buying the GS.
I didn't know back then...
But after working on it bit by bit and learning the engine through and through, I stuck with it and now have 4 of them.
I can damn near work on them with my eyes closed.. in my sleep.
My '95 (incomplete) project has a completely built motor with 0 miles on it I will be parting out soon if you might be interested in anything.

Not sure about everyone else but I respect everyone putting in hard work no matter what kind of car it is..
Always appreciated. I can't imagine the man-hours I've got in this bunch. I've been working on cars since I was 13 and a mechanic for about the past 8-9 years and my cars have been a 'little by little' kinda thing. Unfortunately the one I was building to race looks like it will never get finished and I will be taking the turbo off of it and re-boosting my '96. I used to have a Hahn kit on it but I sold it about 2 years ago.

You can see by my signature that I too have a sickness....DSM. I have 4, son has 3 plus we all (all 3 of us guys) own a Camaro on top of those. Whatever its called, I have it too. You're not alone! :shhh:

It's fantastic isn't it ??

I want to do the paint scheme on my '96 exactly like yours. Red body, black up the middle. Just a little bit darker red for mine though. Was thinking about doing my sideskirts in black also.

I LOVE my "Red Baron" LOL. My 16 yr old son/driver at the track named it and it has stuck. Back in the day my brother (rest in peace Bro!) used to have a Black over Red RS Camaro and it looked a lot like my Talon too. To me it sticks out in a crowd. I kept the theme under the hood too. It is soon to run again with all new
goodies (the HX40 isn't in that picture but sure is pretty too!)

That's nice.
One of these days I'll be pulling the T4 off my other build and boosting my '96.
Right now I'm short injectors, MS and an oil return but I guess I can run low boost until I make it there. Of course I'll tap my pan for oil return or get a catch pan. Money has gotten tighter and tighter and my turbo project has been nixed. Time to sell all the crap off of it, pay some bills and turbo my DD. It's been without turbo for about 2 years and it won't move out of it's own way, sad to say.
On a nice note, I do get great gas mileage cause I can't hammer it!

I had a 3G with a 420 in it and had a drunk driver force me off the road because I couldn't get out of HIS way fast enough. After that (and it almost killed my son and I, thank god for good seat belts), I decided to get a faster car for those situations sad to say. It was a nice auto car with air, cruise, sunroof...decked out but not a single piece survived without a dent buckle or crack.

I feel like an outcast also. I bought a 1999 eclipse with the 420a and it started burning oil. So I planned on buy another motor from a junkyard and building it on a stand and just drive my car until the motor gets done. Which could take some time. And then just swap them out in a day. But the more I read on this forum the more I see people knocking the 420a and it seems like everyone hates the motor. But for some reason I still want to just build up one even though everyone says it's not worth it. Maybe it's cause this is my first dsm. I look forward to getting into these cars. Good to know I'm not the only one who seems to like the 420a LOL
