Just got a set of kelford 272 can I run them on stock springs and retainers. An is there a dyno sheet out for them they are the delta kelford 272

Check the Kelford website. I have Kelford 264's and that's where I found my info on those cams at.

At high rpm . So if I did just drop them I. I don't need to run the car up to or past 7k

Not necessarily. You'd be surprised at the black magic that can occur in a head that's not 100% geometrically sound. I recall someone in a thread about 2 years ago that floated their valves at 4k during cruise conditions from dropping in an aggressive cam on stock springs and "not taking it to 7k rpm".

It has to do with harmonics of the valve train if you are at 4k rpms... the frequency of the springs can still float depending on ramp and duration of cams. I would rather be safe than sorry and just get new bee hives, but that's just me.

I ran my K272s with Evo springs/retainers for 2 years before I upgraded to a Kiggly set.

Evo valve trains are cheap, don't run them on your stock setup

No I have the cam gears and the parts needed to degree them . I was just wondering if I could just drop them in like you can the hks 272 . I have heard mixed reviews on this . But thanks for the help and I will be getting springs and retainers

The main thing I was wondering was do I have to have a dual spring setup or could I use a single

If you're degreeing them you'll know everything better than anyone on here can can tell you about your motor. If you're going to go through all the effort to degree them and have a the technical knowledge of how all of that works it seems self explanatory you would want springs.

Boost level and cam choice will dictate on weather you can use a beehive or you need a dual spring.

Kelford recommends a beehive spring with the 272 cam.
Other builders will suggest you move to a dual spring for a bit more seat pressure and "over the nose" pressure for a more controlled valve movement.

It is common knowledge not to run the Kelford 272 cams on any straight single spring.

Ok thank you . Because I was looking into using the crower single springs and retainers for the cams .but if yall say the will not work thin I will use something else
