Awesome build man definitely motivates me to do a lot more to my car. Keep up the good work. Also your about 4 and a half hours away from where I live. I actually bought my car in P-Cola.

Thanks! I agree about the motivation. These dsm profiles help me move it along. Once my car is running, me and my friend who owns a 90 talon will be making a trip to Pensacola.

Mounted the front bumper and everything looks good. Need to figure out how to get the foglights to fit though. Don't like having those huge empty spaces. Anyone have some tips?

Radiator was a bit thicker than the stock one and would come in contact with the intercooler pipe. So I just used a spare coupler to protect the pipe. Hopefully it holds up.

I'll look into it eventually LOL. So much other stuff to focus on about the car at the moment.

Bought a fuel tank repair kit from RTM Racing and it is amazing. I had already modified the tank due to broken studs but their method is so much better than using jb weld and all that other crap. Now I don't have to worry about breaking studs when I replace a fuel pump. Girlfriend told me to buy an ACT flywheel and gave me the money for it. I'm a lucky guy.

Edit: I am getting impatient and decided to throw in the stock injectors and maf so I can get the car running sooner. Will also make breaking in the engine much easier.

With working 6 days a week I haven't had the time to work on the car much. But I was able to install the ACT streetlite flywheel and Southbend clutch last Sunday. Hopefully this Sunday I can install the transmission, tcase, axles etc.

What's the saying..... Have the time, but not the money. Or have no time but have the money.

Sure looks familiar....same VRSF kit (but no problems with mine, I did a write up when I installed mine and I have the Mitsumoto radiator too), same clutch and flywheel too. You are making me anxious to get mine going again also. Nice build, keep us posted! :thumb:

See this for the little things that I ran into with my '90 and I kept the factory fogs:

She's a smart girl; she's the one who will be sitting directly behind it. LOL

Very true. Although I don't think that was her motive LOL.

It's actually the Punishment Racing FMIC, so its routed a little different. It's a great combo and can't wait to drive the thing. Thanks!

Tomorrow I'll be installing the trans, axles, starter, etc. Hope to get a lot done this weekend.

I'm right there with you but rain is dampening my progress since the body is outside. My son has both punishment and Vrsf and the punishment model has more couplings to always check. My 1g has vrsf and it has 4 couplers so its easier to maintain for me. I bet you're gonna have some fun like I hope to soon. :thumb:

It's supposed to rain all this weekend here, but luckily I have a garage with fans and a fridge for beer. Yea it does have more, but with no a/c or power steering, I have a lot of room to check them. Eventually I will buy the ETS kit though. I enjoy every minute of working on the car. Even when it bites back at me.

I just read through your build journal. Brought back great memories of my dad and I building my laser from scratch. Many, many junk yards visits for clips, gold screws, new trim pieces, etc. Working slowly but surely on the engine, looking forward to driving it one day, but wanting to make sure everything on it was perfect. Looks like your work is really paying off. Very encouraging, your thread motivated me to clean up the interior/exterior of my laser and try to fix some rattles this weekend, if it stops raining long enough that is.

Been in the garage all day sweating my ass off with this humidity. Replaced the driveshaft yoke with a new one so the tcase won't leak. Did it while the driveshaft was still on the car so that was fun..... Also installed the transfer case. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow.

Spent another day in the garage. Adjusted the clutch master and what a pain that was by myself. Also installed a new radiator fan switch, reverse switch, filled the tcase with lightweight shockproof, and added coolant. Of course one of the old hoses (thermostat housing to turbo) had to leak so I will need to order another one.

Also installed some EDM taillights awhile back and I love them. Make a nice change for the rear end.

Spent a bunch of money on the car recently and did a few things.

Ecmlink v3
Evo8 maf
Evo8 to 1g maf harness adapter
Autometer oil pressure gauge

And installed the oil pressure gauge in place of the useless coin holder.

All that's left to do before I can start it is get some nipples and bung holes welded. Giggity

Haven't updated this in awhile. But I started her up on Sunday. Had it run at 2000rpm until it got to operating temp then I turned her off. Need to fix some leaks and start it back up and let it idle to adjust the ignition timing and whatnot. Was running open downpipe and surprisingly no neighbors complained.

Car is now 100% legal after dealing with miles of red tape with the dmv. Tomorrow I'm getting some new tires and I can finally drive it on the road. Although with an open downpipe exhaust I will probably get pulled over as soon as I pull out my driveway.

Thanks. Car runs good but since its a 90 I am dealing with a bunch of electrical issues. Door locks go crazy when I try to lock them (temp fixed it by removing the fuse), headlights will go up but not down, and the horn doesn't work. Horn is the only thing I really care about since it keeps me from getting an inspection sticker.

Thank you. The car won't see a lot of work done anytime soon since I leave for basic training for the Coast Guard on Tuesday. So I won't be able to update this for a couple months.
