I'm looking to get a new oil pressure gauge since the stock one isn't the most reliable. Everyone advises against the mechanical since leaks can occur in the cabin. How do the digital gauges work? Where do they have to plug into and what else would I need? Are there any particular gauges I should stay away from? I have an AEM wideband and an autometer boost gauge and have had 0 problems with them. Also do I need a 0-100psi or 0-150psi?

If I were to do it again, I'd probably go with something more than 100psi, even though you shouldn't be that high.. it's that maximum extent thing. You wouldn't want to run injectors at 95% duty, so why not give the gauge an extra bit of buffer. The issue is then it makes all your marks itty bitty and harder to discern +/- 5psi, if that matters. Beyond that you can go digital display.

I have an autometer cobalt mechanical plumbed into the cabin (console center vent) with -4AN off the OFH. I worry not. I also have a heater core in the cabin which can spring a leak at any moment too, like any heater core.

One thing I noticed with the mechanical is that it's sensitive to compression via the gauge's plastic clamping hardware. Secure it too tight and the needle likes to stick.

I like the Stewart Warner electrical gauges, personally. I (any many others) don't like the idea of oil lines running in to the cabin for mechanical oil pressure gauges.

And many do with no issues if its installed correctly with appropriate hardware.. Sending units didn't always exist and I worry more about exploding flywheels, ball joints, hubs and coolant sprays from under the dash. Some put it on the hood, there's an idea..

If a gauge did fail and you didn't put it in some dumbass spot like on your instrument cluster, can somebody explain the issue and how you're expected to get covered in oil? The worst issue I see is cleanup.

I went with the Innovate MTX-D, combination oil temp and pressure. Ironically just updated my build with this pic a minute ago.

That looks awesome! 2 gauges in 1. Install pretty easy?
Install was easy, couple parts off ebay, some ss lines, all done. Even kept my stock oil pressure needle gauge in the dash.

See page 3 of build for the idea, then further along for completion.

I have an aem mechanical display, digital 150psi oil and it's not my favorite, i can't get it to log correctly and sometimes the thing just freaks out for no reason, I'll probably get something else, just my 2 cents. My aem WB seems to be fine though. Maybe aem is hit or miss.

Im installing an aem oil and fuel pressure gauge now. I will let you know what I think when the car is back together.

I see you have the SCG-1, have you had any chance to use it or know anybody that has? Just want to make sure it's as accurate as the rest of their products. I also have a MTX-D oil & SCG-1. What did you have to buy off eBay? And how/where did u install the oil temp sensor? nice setup!

@303_2G i'm up and running as of an hour or so ago, little shot of my gauges operating in this vid:

omni4 bar in the log during a certain point in time that I have correlated from watching that vid in conjunction with the log looks like they're pretty in-sync (scg-1 and omni4 bar map sensors). And I have them tee'd together from a nipple on the manifold so they're seeing the same exact thing.
