Hello everyone!

So, let start out by saying this is my first DSM vehicle. I've always loved the 2G Eclipse body style, and I finally got the chance to own one, a 1997 Eclipse GST. Previous owner rebuilt the head and redone the timing (shown me pictures of old engine head and such) and basic maintenance has been performed. I recently bought an aftermarket turbo mani, new catback exhaust, front mount intercooler, and turbo intake. Id like to get in the boost and tweak with it a little bit. I've read the BCS is a popular delete if you run MBC or EBC, but one of my guys is telling that I should keep the BCS and take out the boost restrictor instead. So before going any further, I'm trying to get an opinion from the DSMTuners such as you guys. Any advice on mods/preventative stuff I should do before moving any further?

Thanks for all the help and advice. I don't plan on pulling off my T25 anytime soon since one of the members also shared my same thought that it's gonna be a PITA. I got my mani in, along with a CAI, my catback exhaust, and my FMIC that was basically given to me. I also invested in a Hallman MBC as a suggestion from another DSMer. After I get all those tied in i plan on getting the DSMlink once I return from my next trip out of town (I work away from home), then after I get the DSMlink installed, which I believe I need to modify/replace my ECU to do(?) I'll be focusing on getting the car back to its visually appealing self.

Throw a 16g on there too it's not really THAT big of a PITA. Just watch some videos and read posts to get some tips and tricks. The DSM T25 is crap (comparatively). FAR too small to make any real power on. There's a good reason why most people swap them out. http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125410 These are some of the fastest T25 cars and they're not even touching 12's.

So with a t25 and all stock, what would be better to do first. Fmic or cat back

3" turbo back and have an o2 bung welded in for later on if it doesnt come with one.

You wont need an fmic until you start upping the boost and making a lot more heat. Then boost and afr gauge to monitor the changes you will make.

After gauges then a manual boost controller.

Dont worry about a turbo upgrade. You wont be able to use the turbo you have now without a tuner, let a lone a much bigger one.

When you've got all that done, including a tuner, and you're squeezing what you can out of the t25 then its time to think about a turbo upgrade and fmic. On the 2g's its really easier to upgrade the fmic and turbo at the same time.
