No pics yet. I'll toss some in my build thread when it's done. I have a pic of the rear hook in there now. Same idea. DOM tubing welded into the crash bumper bracket. Screw in type hook goes through the bumper cover into a threaded portion on the tubing.

Started making carbon fiber front upper bumper bracket. The thin sheet metal thing :) (scrap CF)

I did some, often times overlooked, prep on my block, I pulled all the old bits of RTV gasket sealer, out of my oil pan bolt holes, I used compressed air, some basic o-ring picks [to dig the large debris loose], and lastly I used a metric 6x1.00 thread chaser on the threads.

FINALLY.... put the transmission on the new motor and am ready to install them in the engine bay....if the rain would just quit so I can since it's outside and the motor/trans are inside but I feel accomplished!

Happened 2 days ago, but ...

Carefully took out the viscous coupler, snap ring, and 1/4 steel ball I had stored in a Ziplock bag ready to install in the transmission. While thinking NOT to drop that ball.. the little sucker rolled out the bag, across the table. I (holding the bag with said viscous coupler in hand) try to block it from rolling off the table with my chest, only to bounce it off the side of the plastic table, onto the concrete basement floor where the trans assembly was taking place. That concrete floor happened to be near a wall, heard it bounce once then no more.

*In effort not to wait a week for yet another Mitsubishi part* I proceeded to move all the surrounding tables, sweep the basement floor, and sift through the piles with a magnetic pickup tool (no luck)
Then, took a 500W work light to the crack surrounding the basement looking for any shiny objects (no luck)
THEN took a vacuum to the same crack by the wall, again sifting through what was sucked up

(no luck) - BUT I found an old penny, a beer bottle cap and a 3-leaf clover dog tag similar to this one

Not only that I went out to Lowes, Home Depot, Autozone, PepBoys called a transmission shop, & Mitsubishi dealer to see if they had any part in stock that would replace my lost 1/4 steel ball (no luck).

Then I ordered part MF540008 - it should be here on Tuedsay.

You'll find it after the replacement comes in...

Started pulling it apart for various fixes.. Mainly seals.
Replacing fmic with a used ETS street kit and going SD this year with double the PCV action.

Found I blew a hole in the jpipe coupler last season.

Finished cutting/drilling steel/tubing for tow hook.
Finished cutting/bending stainless steel lower bumper reinforcement. Both ready to weld.

Put a coat of epoxy on CF upper front bumper bracket.
Put a coat of epoxy on CF fog light bezels.

Working through the intercooler repair.. replacing a section that was cut out by previous owner for a GM MAF.

Finally did a half-ass BLT, found two big leaks, tightened up VC, replaced o-ring on biss. Installed the evo9 MR bov I've had sitting around for 6 weeks. Holy s***!!! So that's what holding boost feels like. I've been driving crippled for years! Also I'm not a big sound person, but the Evo bov does sound nice.

Wasn't today, but Saturday on my brother's 1990 Eclipse GSX. (The one at the center of my drama with another DSMer here, who shall go unamed.) Figured we would try to get it started to see if it runs before we try to continue. Compressions were 140 across all 4, got spark, smell fuel in the exhaust, but no go. Asked a buddy and tried pushing the crappy wires on the coolant temp sensor in. Started right up! Woo! Sounds good too, if idling a bit high.

Now to continue with the progress, swap headlight motors, power steering loop, headlight trim, valve cover gasket, fix wiring, install crash bar etc etc. Joy!

Well it wasnt today, but Saturday I went to the junkyard and got me a set of eclipse 98 fog lights. Even though I went looking for a valve cover (mine's cracked ) but going to try the classifieds or Ebay, hopefully find something:heystupid:

Coated ic piping with high heat aluminum bbq/stove shit. Should be good enough to protect them.
Installed salvaged OEM fog lights I've had for years in a box, now need to restore wiring and the lenses.
