When I was still on the stock MAF my car idled pretty good. I switched to speed density and now my idle is all messed up. Most of the time I have to keep giving it gas or it will die. Also I can't seem to get SDairflowPerRev .25 and my combinedFT is off. I add deadtime and it doesn't seem to do anything. Please take a look at my log and give me suggestions. 1st log you can see my car starts fine then dies shortly after. I appreciate your help. Thanks

Thanks calan. That's a great guide, however I'm pretty sure that's not my problem. As I stated earlier, my idle was fine prior to SD install and I highly doubt one my ISC coils decided to go bad instantly. I also did another boost leak test and found no leaks. It's weird because sometimes it will idle perfect but then it will randomly start surging. I'm willing to bet my problem is in the tune alone. I bought the sd bundle with plug n play harness and didn't want to hack any wires so I wasn't able to use the SD ratio tool. I had to use the stock 2.0 map and my car is far from stock so I'm pretty sure that's the problem. Please take a look at my log again

I have a spare ISC I can swap in if needed.

This is directly from the ECMtuning site:
This cable connects the IAT sensor to the factory Intake Temp input pin and the MAP sensor to the factory Baro input pin. So when configuring the ECMLink software, those are the pins you'll need to specify and use.

Your pin assignment for the MAP is wrong.

Just checked and according to my research I have the MAP assigned correctly. Sorry I didn't specify earlier that the bundle came with the mitsu-style sensor.

Any other suggestions?

For some reason you are locking the MDP input. This is the reason it looked like a wrong pin assignment at first. Uncheck all three of those boxes.

If that does not fix your issue, you need to troubleshoot the idle surge. Work backwards hooking up the MAF to make sure the problem does not persist.

I unchecked those boxes and for the most part my car has been idling better. I still have random episodes where it will start idling very low and the car dies out. This seems to happen the most on cold start when it first goes into closed loop and when the car is fully warmed up. I'll start checking all the basics again and post a new log.

So oddly enough I randomly stumbled upon this post and I'm 98.3 percent positive I bought your gsx!

Wow that’s crazy! I was just talking to a co-worker about how much I miss my car and now I see this! Unfortunately I went through a divorce in 2015 and was basically forced to sell it :(. Well I’m glad to see it’s still on the road! I spent several years on that build. That car was being parted out when I found it. I restored it and built a fresh 6-bolt block/2G head for it. Let me know if u have any questions about it and I’ll help however I can.

BUMP.

Same issue. PERFECT 750-850 idle with the maf. Perfect. Csrs been on a maf for a decade.

I removed the maf, went sd and the worst idle i have ever had. 600-1200rpm. Starts smooth the. It starts leaving the one SD block and hunting around. Hair pulling annoying. Gets bad then better then bad then better. Ive even had it surging and sitting in ONE single sd block!

Nothing was changed when the issue came up. I have sjnce had a new custom uicp with temp sensor in it, and put a full intake back on. The min i went from maf to sd thats what changed my idle. I even drove around and did the sd ve adjust and all that.

Sd is not good for driveability at all. I removed the fiav and isc a 5 years ago becuse all they did is make the idle surge!

Start a new thread and post some logs. I strongly recommend at least an isc but can be tuned around.

If you have no air leaks SD works great when you get it set up but there is leg work you have to do 1st.

If you cant figure it out there are remote ways of tuning
