ok i have looked for a post on these symptoms but have not fount one within my circumstances.
i have a 91 gs turbo auto. when i got it, the last time it was started was 11 years in the past.
the turbo was seized the ecu was shot and there was a little rust on the intake cam just below the oil cap.
got the rust taken care of, put a 92 ecu unsure it is turbo or even auto or if it even madders. also the fuel tank was rusted almost through so i pulled a tank and pump off a car that said gsx but for some reason was fwd.?
replaced the turbo with a t5 "had the t4"
i started it up and it runs but sometime it hunts between 2 and 1 rpm.
my main concern is the yellowish oil. i changed the oil to the correct level and now its over and yellow. any way it could not be a head gasket? maybe i punctured something in my turbo?
sorry for the long list but it may all have something to do with how it all happened but maybe not?
thank you all!

ALSO I WASHED THE MOTOR DOWN THOROUGHLY WITH A WATER HOSE AS WELL AFTER THE OIL CHANGE

Solve the ecu problem. You must have the correct one. Youre going to have to do better than "yellow oil" ...its kind of supposed to be yellow?
Youre asking us to diagnose based on limited vague information. Pics would help.

That isnt yellow, its milky. Change it.
Your car also will not run until you do one of two things. Get an auto turbo ecu or a turbo 5spd ecu and use turbo 5spd injectors.im assuming the rest of the car is stock and nothing ive mentioned has already been changed. That milky oil isn't good. You may have big issues. No way to know without testing.

Daaammn that oil is no good, looks like a blown head gasket . I wouldn't start the car till you fix that issue because that oil Is deffintaly not lubricating enough looks like coffee LOL was your turbo rebuilt?

thanks ! is there any other way for the coolant to mix with oil? maybe the turbo??

Not sure much about it just wanted to know if there was any way that could be my problem

Has the car run at all since you got it? It wss probably parked because of this problem. If it was left like that there are more issues because of time. If this is recent you might save it. you have some work to do. There is no way to start it until you fix the ecu issues etc. this may be a car you want to abandon unless its really nice. Otherwise leave it as a parts car.

Yeah somethings deffinitaly not right either Its the turbo ,head gasket, or the oil cooler as suggested above . Do you know what was done to this car? Is it worth it to you to swap a good 4G?

So I am new to the forums but not at all new to the mechanical value of a head gasket. That absolutely looks like the head gasket to me. Is the oil on the dipstick milky at all? If you drain some out of the pan how does it look?

Yes its possible.

i drove the car around my house after changing the oil for a day or to and didnt notice anything until checking the oil but i dont believe it was like that before. and id hate to do that cause its my first turbo car i have 3 other na cars that need motors would it be a bad iddea to turbo the other cars? mainly cause they are 5speed and that ecu would work.

as far as i know i am the only one to replace anything on it, when i got it they said all it needed was an ignition switch "and it was the ecu" but i swopped the fuel tank/pump,ecu,spwires, and the turbo. and what do you mean swap a good 4g?

4g63 LOL , and
Was the engine ran like that? Any nock?

Just noticed this is an auto - could be the trans cooler blew - leaked into the radiator - possibly ?

Is there any other symptoms besides the oil color being milky?

Run hot, trans shift harsh, runs just like crap

Also the idle surge could be a multitude of problems - been a while but If I remember right the iac valve was the culprit when my last dsm had this same issue.

Idle surge is more than likely an IAC valve or vacuum leak. But you have bigger problems like the aforementioned water/oil contamination.

Compression/leak down checks and a coolant pressure test are in order....
