Hey All... Thought I would throw this out. Many dsm'ers have asked what my car looks like with the 17x10 wheels on. Here are some pictures...

The tires are 275/40/17 on all four corners, but I have ran as wide as 295. Rubbing is minimal and significantly less than what I had with 245/18 wheels and tires. Ride height is a little higher than normal at the moment and needs to come down about 1/2 inch. I also need to put flares over the tires. I haven't been questioned at a SCCA event yet, but I'm probably pushing my luck.

I believe adding flares means it changes your class a tad bit.

What's the offset of the wheels?

Adding flares would change the class if they were aerodynamic, but that doesn't really matter for me because I'm already in Modified.

Offset on the wheels is +20

Did you have to grind anything down (such as the rear trailing arm) to get those wheels to fit? Your build page says you are using 10" mustang replica wheels, but those wheels sure don't look like stang wheels; who makes them? Do you think there is anything you can truly do to totally eliminate the (minimal) rubbing?

These were 100% bolt on.
They are replica 03 Cobra 10th anniversary wheels. I'm assuming they are from American Muscle.
Bingo

Wrong vendor. My mistake.

They are 17x10... It also looks like they have a really good sale on them right now if interested.

A final note on these wheels: These were a bolt on fit with coil overs and wheel studs. I don't know it they will fit with a stock suspension and I (personally) would not run them without new wheel studs.

Holy crap that is cheap!!! I'm seriously considering ordering soon (to use later) because it's such a sweet deal, but wanted to make sure that you are definitely not running a staggered wheel setup and that you are using 17"x10" on all (4) corners with 275/40-17 tires.
You wouldn't happen to know the weight of each wheel would you?

275/40-17 and 17x10 on all four corners.

In regard to weight they are not the lightest wheels availible. I weighed each wheel at just under 22lbs.

i was looking at some other wheels to put on the car, ye or ne? and will they fit?
they are Rota grids 17*9 114.30-5 lug 35 offset

Just tried the 17*9 et 27 255/40/17 Dunlop star spec II. I have the roll my rear fender half inch to get clearance. It may not touch with the 500lb spring on the rear but it might. I tried to roll the fender before and it buckled the rear quarter. I am going to try again but I will have to make a relief cut from the tub to the quarter to relieve the stress. Its a race car so not the end of the world to cut the tub. Front clearance isn't a issue for me as I already made the fenders wider upfront.

That is a picture of Shep's car back in the day and he ran real VOLK wheels. Rote grids will look similar but not exactly like that.
