So this morning I texted a guy about his 1995 eclipse gsx. We talked about the car and such. Then all of the sudden he stopped replying to texts and later I called and nobody answered. He has a email posted and I'm thinking about emailing him through that. My only guess is he works nights. Please help and send advice

Btw I posted this also in the hangout but I think this is the appropriate place for the thread.

Is there a question here? Sometimes thats how craigslist works. You dont know this guy and he doesnt owe you anything including explanations. If he calls you back that's at his discretion. If you choose to try furthur contact thst is at your discretion.

Thats how txt/internet selling goes.
I have a friend that sells stuff on CL and he never pulls his ad down even after it sells then complains when he keeps getting txts/emails for a month after its sold. I told him pull the ad and they will stop calling...... yet it stays up. He must like the attention. LOL

So how exactly do you need our help? Just be careful, dont trust anybody. If he is interested he will call back! Do not give out any personal info, cash or Paypal only. I posted a turbo for sale and this guy text me back and says "I like the turbo, I want to buy it. just send me your full name and address so I can mail you the payment" so I sent him my paypal info and he says "no, your full name and address! I am going to send you a cashiers check" On a Sunday??????????? I asked. just be very careful, if it is too good to be true then more than likely its a fake and some moron want to take your hard earned mo:nono::barf::notgood:ney.

+1 to both of these.

Mainly what Pauleyman said. He is correct, but so is donhopkins. I had a guy chase me with a batt when I was going to buy his motorcycle. It wasn't for sale is what he would yell at me while chasing me. It was an experience.

Dude probably sold it, most people don't like to to text date someone interested in buying their car.
Always call and immediately jump on it, because many others are seeing what you are, texting is flaky as is!
:( Better luck next time.

I was just looking at a 97 gsx on CL. This guy posted the car on three different occasions, with 3 different prices. His contact is e-mail only, and has never responded. I don't want the car anymore, yet I still e-mail just to see if he's real. Side note- I had a CL guy offer me 50 Playboy magazines for a 2g radiator, and I declined the offer.

He responded. Negotiations have kept going. Hopefully I can get this dsm. Thanks for the advice and it turns out he works later shifts and goes strait to night school.

Well good luck either way it's sad how a few bad experience with craigslist leads to and entire thread rather humorous and being chased with a bat sounds like a experience. Mine was when I went to a "running" car with no motor I then proceeded to ask the guy ," by running I ment not with my feet, going down hill. " will just say I moved on..... CL can be good and can be really bad just be smart

Pretty much describes 90% of Craigslist transactions I've ever experienced. Welcome to the internet.

I purchased my 98 spyder gst off of Craigslist. My advice to you would be to be patient. If the guy doesn't reply he's either not interested or sold it already. Sometimes people sell things online and don't take down the ad. It's pretty common actually. I know your anxious, but don't over step yourself. Hopefully you get the car. Good luck to you.

I found my current 2g off CL, it wasn't posted but 5 minutes when I called the guy, said he had 2 callers already, so gotta be quick, and cash in hand works magic!

Yes cash in hand does work magic. The guy I got mine from wanted 4000 I offered 3000. He accepted and once I got there I got it for 2500. So cash in hand trumps all.

had a guy call me about my 89 turbo mirage hatch. he wanted to look at it. told him to recall me when he got close to me and then would give him my address. He did just that and showed up with a car dolly. found out he drove 9hrs just to look at the car. I posted it on CL and was gone the same day. He did not even try to get me to come off of 4k for it since I would have held on to it if he did.

you find good and bad people on CL. I always have no shows when selling dsm parts on CL

Just like everyone else before me said, be careful and if you can have someone go with you to check out the car. You never know who you're dealing with!
