Hello everybody I would like to swap my 2g head for a 1g head, what do I need to perform this swap, i have a 1996 tsi awd, auto, any guidance would be awesome

Just in case, let's let him know that the 2g head is better than the 1g head. So you'll really want to keep the 2g head thing going, since the thermostat housings are a little different between the 2, and 2g CAS stuff, who knows what else.

I might have been mistaken but I thought the 1g head was better, flowed better, I might be wrong though, that's why I come here :)

The 1G head technically flows more, yes. However unless you plan on utilizing a Cyclone IM(and properly actuating it at 4100-4400rpms), you'll enjoy your 2G head better. Unless it's going to be a stripped out gutted big turbo race car, the 2G head will make a better, more useable powerband. Couple that with an Evo 3 IM, and it'll be a joy to drive on the street. Read up on all the info Kiggly has posted about the 2G head. :) The hassle you'll have with swapping to a 6 bolt head and the added expense of a Cyclone IM would be better spent on an Evo 3 IM and other stuff like that. The 2G head has a higher velocity, as well as the valves are better placed in the ports(there isn't a sudden drop, it's a clean smooth path to the valve), as opposed to the 1G head where the valve sits down in the port. Couple other things like that.

Basically, don't bother unless it's a giant turbo drag car, and even then Kiggly seems to love his 2G head on his giant turbo drag car. :p

Thanks guys, another question I have is I would like get about 400 hp out of this car, is that reasonable or not, just want to make it a sleeper.

Extremely reasonable, but start out small. Search, search, search. Do all the reading you can. These forums are full of great information, and with time, patience, and elbow grease 400hp is very reasonable, and relatively simple to achieve. Just make sure you don't try to get in a rush and slap on a bunch of performance parts without reading the upgrade paths first. Reading is your new best friend. :)
