Hi seems all the wireing digrams are for 1g cars and has a stock harness Red Wire White Wire and Black Wire as to a 2g has Red Wire Blue Wire Blue/black Wire correct me if im wrong

1g 2g
Red = Red

White = Blue

Black = Blue/black

is this correct? and heres a theard i found on howto hook up a COP but its for a 1g

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...g/282664-how-build-coil-plug-setup-cheap.html

i did find a 2g hand drawn but it was set up different then a 1g

before i posted that response above i checked if you were running dsmlink and what year your 2g was since that will change the wiring of the COP setup since the firing order is changed with a '95 ECU.
for information sake or if you didn't update your mod list in your profile and you are trying to wire your COP with a '95 EPROM/dsmlink heres what your looking for.

i pulled this off of the dsmlink wiki
COP Systems
If you have a Coil-On-Plug system, you need to swap primary ignition wires from the ECU instead of swapping spark plug wires. On a 2G, you would interchange the Black/Blue wire from ECU pin 10 with the Brown/Red wire from ECU pin 23. On a 1G, you would interchange the Yellow wire from ECU pin 54 with the Yellow/Red wire from ECU pin 55. In either case, you can swap the wires either at the ECU or at the under-hood Ignition Power Transistor connector. The wire color remains the same on both ends.

Note that primary-wire swapping described for the COP setup could just as well be used in lieu of swapping plug wires even if you don't have a COP system.

No they are not the same, When I got my COP setup the guy I bought it off of had it on his 2g and I needed to swap the 2 wires as mentioned above.

Yeah i have dsmlink as well. Seems like its a lot of BS to use something so simply.

My car is a 97 it has a 1g head a 6bolt motor and a 95 eprom ecu so do i switch wires on the coil pack or on the ECU? cause if its the ecu im not touching it cause knowing my luck i will f**k something up in the process causeing more damge then good.

so simply said youve got a 97 eclipse with a 6 bolt and a 95 eprom ecu? i have no experience on 6-bolt setups in 2gs or COP wiring, i just know how to find info...
heres info on the 6bolt swap and the wiring as well. http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf

maybe with the info from the wiring help in this 6bolt swap and the additional info to run the COP setup above you can figure something out.

your question is difficult enough for someone who knows what theyre talking about to answer but it makes it impossible when the modifications that you currently have done to your car and are trying to troubleshoot don't match the modifications that are in your profile. (i.e. dsmlink)

Bolt-on Modifications:
Big FMIC Tail BOV Dejon Tool Cold Air HKS Boost Control UICP LICP

Engine Internals:
2.3 Stroker 6 Bolt 50 Trimm Turbo Said To Be SMIC 660 cc injectors Wally 255 Fuel pump w/ rewire 3" Full Down Pipe Cold Air Intake NGK plugs

Drivetrain Modifications:

Suspension Modifications:

ok ihave a question as well. i have a 95 head on my 97 eclipse. ihad safc in it then i upgraded to dsmlink and got everything hooked up and it just cranks over seems like it wants to start but just dies do i have to switch wires because i have a 95 head 1 this is driving me insane thanks in advance

I read the posts in regard to running a COP setup on my 97 Eclipse GSX. I just sold my AEM EMS and am in the process of switching over to DSM Link V3.
I noticed an AEM twin fire for sale on the forum. Do you happen to know much about those COP setups. Would you mind telling me if I should run the AEM twinfire along with a set of 300m coils. I noticed some people run Suzuki GSXR coils. Do you happen to have any recommendations for me in regard to switching to a COP setup on my 97 GSX. I am totally confused. I am having my ECU socketed now. Is there anything I need to know in regard running COP on my car. I tried searching but am not finding the info I need to doing this right.
This is my first DSM and I am trying tonget my car on the road after blowing a head gasket.

Stock DSM coil packs are better than 99% of the COP setups you can buy, most do it for it aesthetics. Just use the stock coil packs and get aftermarket plug wires and you'll have a ignition system that will work to 70lbs/m.
