According to the first link Evo 1-2's use the same t-case as a 95-96, and the Evo 3's use a 97-99 t-case. Picture of an Evo 3 t-case right here.

The cast iron cases are better and it's case flex that causes gears to fail in these.

Magnus has a cover that should help with tcase issues if you're breaking them.... then again you'd have to know why you're breaking them. A friend of mine was breaking t-cases due to flywheel bolts that were slightly long enough to not fully seat the head of the bolt against the flywheel. This wasn't noticeable just by looking but upon several tcases being broken and inspecting the bolts you could see that they had bottomed out in the crank. This allowed vibration that was killing tcases.
