Hi. I bought the dreamcar about 2 months ago. I took a plane to get to the seller, and drove the wonderful 7 hours back home, with the roof down.
Man my eyes got sour after the sun that day.
Well, im about to post some plans for this car, since i got the car because i loved it the F&F movies, i want to build the car I want.
Both styling and some performance tuning are planned, but not for racing, just for cruise'ing and smoking some Audi youths.

links to newest posts from me: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dsm...lipse-gst-enthusiast-build.html#post153337839

this is my car, pretty isnt she.

this is the plans i got:
* full maintenence
* new audio system
* engine block paint
* new airfilter (and intake)
* exhaust front to back.
* 16g turbo.
* fmic.
* performance clutch.
* boost controller.
* fuel pressure regulator

and some styling here and there, trying to make it as clean and discreet as possible. there are alot of maybies, and some plans might not work out as intended, but im gonna try to make the most of this car, this car is gonna be my legacy :pray:

this weekend i did some few modifications.

i ordered some hood lifters from taiwan, sokie tech they are called, and man, thats a nice mod, and supris'ingly easy to fit (since im a mech newbie).

looks great doesnt it! :thumb:

yesterday i fitted some new gauges, but damn, that was alot of picky-work.
looks nice, but havent managed to connect power to it yet.

today i found out that i did a major blooper fitting the gauges, i accidently manged to bump slightly into the fuel needle, and now it barely moves.
after filling the tank this morning, the needle barely moved above the 1/4 mark! :banghead: hope this is fix-able, because this was more work than fun.
does look neat tough.

been some time since i posted last time, but i havent done much either.
just changed the sparkplugs and did the wiring to my new gauges, but no worry, i got pics ;) i also fitted the new "blinkers" on my front bumper, would look nicer when i remove and cover the holes from the lights on my side fender.

havent done any big mods lately. its soon time to put my car for hibernation since winter is upon Norway any day now. but i did something i think is quite neat:

DSC_0225_zps1b90f943.jpg

the red bumper logo had some fading color, so i swapped it from a 3g (i know, shame on me), and i think it looked kinda neat.

lastly, i changed my spark plugs with new "blu" from NGK. during the winter im gonna paint the engine cover. we'll see whats happening during winter, cya next spring ;)

no big new announcements yet, but the ICE is coming along nicely, now im just searching for a new headunit, dunno if im gonna go for a 2-din or a regular one, but this is what iv'e got so far:

fusion 6,5 PP-CM650 in the front should do the trick, unsure about im gonna use the tweeters, read some reviews that they were day and night comparison to the midbass.

DSC_0273_zpsioscgxkv.jpg

rockford fosgate t-6000 4 channels and a fusion 6*9 coax. amps and speakers should work togheter perfectly, the rms on speakers are very close to the max limit of the amp, so im abit excited how it will sound after install :thumb:

iv'e also been looking for new rims, since i think my multispoke MAK wheels are god damn ugly, this is what iv'e been drooling about lately, whatcha think?
its an XXR 527 if anyone wonders.

Nice work getting the spydie man...looking good, I have not used fusion speakers before. I went with a full JL audio set up with JL amps.... I tucked two jl audio CPL108LG between the X brace in the back and used a L bracket to secure them and a jl audio slash 1000/1v2 amp to power them. The trunk is so small in this convertibles I did not want to loose any trunk space and this set up fits perfectly in the unused space under the top. The system has awesome sound with the top down or up at any speed. They have the great sound quality that JL is known for and hit like my buddies 12s. I don't even hear my full 3in down pipe and turbo back Apexi exhaust.....just in case you want to add subs there is an idea for you. As for a head unit I would do it based on your phone you have.... I had an appradio3 with my iPhone5s but just changed to a note3 and changed the head unit to a sony Xav-601bt for the drive link and hi deff screen and the phone connection.....any way bro nice car can't wait to see what you do with it. Deff reconnect the bov though, running it uncirculated has been known to create idle issues and a bunch of other issues unless your running speed density. That and sence you put clear corner lights on I would toss a light coat of VHT nightshade on them just to tint them a bit so they blend into the nice dark gray bumper. Looks really good in my opinion and nothing it more discreet then a nice set of 16inch stock 2g croms and a slight drop..... Just a pice of advice and opinion from a fellow spyder owner....have a good one.....

Which gauges are those? Reverse glow off of eBay? I'm loving the build though the car looks mint and I'm jealous my gst didn't come that clean. I looking forward to seeing more progress!

here is the link to gauges:

95 99 Eclipse Turbo 2 0 Blue Indiglo Glow White Gauges | eBay

im going to tint my rear lights and blinkers, but not dark black, just darkened red. do you think that will work if i only coat the glass carefully once with the VHT?
and im not selecting a headunit based on my phone, i hate anything connected to phones. im gonna drive and enjoy the roads with great sound from both my ICE and car, the phone will be left behind :thumb:

Yeah if you just put one coat of VHT on it would work... I would not do the rear lights... They are dark enough and even a coat of red could make them to dark for traffic behind you to see... I was just referring to your clear side markers... A light coat of VHT night shade would look really nice I think and blend in to the bumper and really stream line the look of the bumper......Also about the head unit I use a blue tooth link for all my music.... It dose not connect for calls because talking on the phone while driving pisses me off. I hate people doing it... I have been almost been ran off the road on my bike because of it......I was just saying for ease of music and all... I use my pandora through my head unit and toss the phone in the glove box. I also use the navigation through drive link if I need to go somewhere that I have never been. I never have to look for a CD or anything else when it comes to music and can control everything without touching the phone...But to each their own, I was just giving an option to go with. But still looks good, and only a mater of time till you want to do the AWD swap.... Lol I know the AWD bug bit me and I love it...

an awd swap huh? ... nah, i rather get another dsm, but the gsx one.

yet again, i see your point about the headunit, but im old school, i think im just gonna find a headunit with DAB and a usb port i can use with an ipad.

im looking for something like this pioneer deh-x8500dab. nothing advanced, just great sound. someone at the norwegian mitsu forum, said i should get the Clarion NX702DAB, but... seems like alot of work to fix a 2-din player into the dash.

I have the xab601bt 2bin... It was actually easy to fit in the spyder... I used the stock mounts the side metal ones that screw into the stock head unit and it bolted right up to the new head unit and slid into place..I did not have to buy any other stuff or do anything mount it. It also has the USB in front and one in back that I used to put a 250 hard drive to. I have music videos and tons of music if I don't like what is on pandora. I also use my iPad through my blue tooth sometimes as well so it is fully interchangeable. Not that I would but has the auv set up in the back to hook up rear camera and a ps4 if you wanted to...best head unit I have found under 1000 bucks. I think they are actually on sale at best buy now for like 400 or something. It Has 55w rms output through all 4 out puts plus 3 RCA out puts, front rear and sub so the would quality is awesome.

Yeah the AWD (parts car)happen to fall in my lap.... I traded a old 99 bmw e36 with 294,000 miles for my spyder, a GSX with no title and a motorcycle.....so yeah namely to say I had everything I needed right I front of me for it....

just a small update for now. been painting the top and are going to be assembled very soon, just need a layer,- of something i dont remember the name of in english, - to make it shine ;)

almost done, new photos will come after assembly and some fixes ;)

Mounted the valve cover yesteday and fired up the car for the first time in 5 months... damn this winter have been hard on my soul!
I also found out that one of my tires was empty on air, no shocker actually since iv'e been driving all summer with a nasty bulk on the tire, it finally had to "blow".
So, while im waiting for my tax money, im doing budget on the car, since i have to pay 500$ for the yearly tax and license plates, now tires too :p

anyway, i got some pics for you to look at :)

DSC_0318_zpssiajbngq.jpg

needs a little bit polish to truly shine, and the result on the valve cover was ok enough:

and then some pics of my recent purchase, soon to arrive or 2 be installed:

in a few days now, the dsm will come out in the light once again, but now i got a luxury issue. im going to get me some new wheels, but i have no idea what color to pick :S does anyone have photoshop or something who can help me out here?
the wheels are going to be xxr 527, and the colors i have in mind is :
-bronze
-gold
-chromium black
-and just chrome

im not a big fan of chrome, but, i really dont know what would match best with my grey spyder :p thank you for any replies (hopefully soon!)

oh, this came last week, going to fit it with some gauges soon, looks like an easy install :D

hello again ppl. soon ill be installing some new stereo, now im looking for a new set of wheels.
Iv'e been drooling after the xxr 527 in bronze... but ofc, its soon to be out of stock, so its probably gone before i get my tax money back. If anyone want to suggest some sweet concave rims for me, ill be happy if you replied to me :)

Is that stock paint color? Looks exactly like mine(mine is not a stock color). Like a darker, gunmetal-ish grey
Car looks amazing bro. I agree, you need to get some more "simple" wheels, less spokes, and it would look that much better. Black is always a good go-to rim color to match the dark grey. Silver/grey would look good too.

thats the factory paint, yes. i finally found a website who sell the wheels in US, and still with the included shipping, its still cheaper than ordering them from the UK or Germany :)
black rims are pretty, but im think im going for the bronze ones, i have seen bronze rims on cars with similar color as my dsm, and i think it looks sweet.

i got some new pics for ya 2day, been doing some ICE but far from finished. I knew it would be tight to fix cables etc in my car, but i never imagined it was so little room! so until i can drill some holes for the wires, i did some newbie-temporary-solutions :p

DSC_0403_zpsfxewnwjm.jpg

DSC_0404_zpsq1biuucd.jpg

and who said that the dsm's are unpractical? :p

DSC_0398_zps2hsk4wmx.jpg

and finally i got a pic from a local streetmeet i attended to, great photo, love my car

IMG_1135_zpsf07f544a.jpg

2.door is almost done, just need to pull trough some wires and drill a couple of holes, i am very excited to hear how the Fusion speakers performe :)

until next time....

3" sr-s downpipe, megan turbo- and oil pressure gauges and finally a apexi power intake filter otw. I would like your toughts and experience with these products? Got any issues with them, or are ya all satisfied? :)

its been some time since i posted any updates, but here are some:

megan gauges and custom holder fitted, i think they look really nice and i didnt need to buy a holder for the A-bar

DSC_0538_zps3s1ty6bd.jpg

got myself a new bov aswell, a TIAL QR, not fitted yet, but will be very soon, just waiting for a new intake, then it will most probably be fitted:

DSC_0536_zpssadrplnk.jpg

since i sold my crappy old beamer, i also invested in some new studded winter wheels, its pretty damn cold to drive around in a cab, but the car manages this just fine, starts every time ;)

DSC_0579_zpslkhjsruq.jpg
(15" bridgestone blizzak)

also bought some from miller import parts, a couple of new fenders and a inner fender, saved alot of money on that purchase, would cost me 4-5 times more here where i come from, thank you USA!

DSC_0578_zpsvr7vgcox.jpg

i have no use for the intake pipe, so if anyone needs one, just tell me, ill give it away for free, minus shipping ofc.

lastly, just a mood picture :)
DSC_0005_zpslsix9m2j.jpg

future mods will be a Injen intake and a fmic, and hopefully, a couple of new wheels ;)
