Hi I was driving my spider a few weeks ago and then I started hearing aloud banging when I hit bumps coming from the rear end and after further investigation I realized the rear strut where it bots to the top on the car has torn through and now it flops around it had rusted through looks like. Have u guys ever had this problem and if so what would be a good way to fix it? I got a welder but its so hard to get to with the top on it and getting a welder to there w/o burring the rag top. any suggestions?

Usually happens in the front so that's surprising. Take a pic if you can. You could try to patch it up but if it's rusted out like that I'd wonder what the rest of the car looks like and whether it's safe to drive anymore.
