Mine is rare (631/1000), but if I hadn't bought it for $650 and rescued it from a seven year rodent infestation, awful rust, and a horrible case of bent valves, it would have probably ended up in a junkyard so... YOLO
with exception LOL I was referring to 1g's/2g's.

LoL!
Driving DSM's in the rain is fun- but I've never done the snow. I don't think I have the right tires for that.
Besides... we rarely get snow down here.

Daily. That's what the AWD is for. :p

Although, you can't really ever say it's actually "winter" in Denver. It's pretty much 45 or above all the time with brief spurts of snow or cold.

Ive daily driven my 1g beater for 11 years. The most fun I have with the car is when we get at least 18" of snow and I find an unplowed parking lot. It was unstoppable with winter tires on it but fairs really well with all seasons. I've tried to get the car stuck on the road but can honestly say its never happened. I've plowed thru drifts that were up over the hood, I didn't stop to see if I could get stuck but made my way thru. The car may be a little tail happy but keeping the car in power around the turbo spool you can power the car back into control when the drifts get crazy. I find that since its a sports car you get better feedback as a driver and the lower center of gravity makes it easier to control than my jeep.

On the other hand I have two other dsm's garaged that will never see salt. I'ts awesome to be one of the only cars on the road alongside trucks/suv's.

people really just don't understand how crappy trucks are for winter... I laugh when people post add's saying they need a truck to drive in winter. come on LOL because a top heavy rwd vehicle with no weight in the back end is the best possible thing for snow! people are so dumb some time....ok well lots of time's. I got stuck more in my truck in winter then in a miata which is just sad!

I have tried to explain to many people that an awd car is better in snow than a truck and they will still argue. My wj jeep has quadradrive front/rear axles which is a weird hydraulic lsd but I tuned the fluid to get them to lock right now when slip occurs. With mtr's it will drive thru all the snow I can find here but is very unstable at speed on snow or ice. Where I can feel comfortable doing 55 in the dsm I end up doing 40 in my jeep. Only nice thing about it is the abs is nice.
