So I got a job offer from the company I just left back on November. Hoping it goes better down their. Wouldn't have to be dealing with the same manager. I'm nervous about it, have been living with mom for 24 years now. But I think it is time to go.

How is the DSM scene down their? I won't have a garage down their, will be in apartment for a little while. And I like to do all my own work, so might need a good/honest shop. Or a room for rent would be cool also, will be in concord preferably.

There are a few of us still roaming the streets, you wont be far from miller import parts if you end up in concord. There are a CRAP TON of buzzing hondas down here for your car to eat.:sneaky: what part of virginia you from?

I'm from springfield VA right off 495.

I hear their is a lot of muscle down their. I'm hoping to make some good money and do AWD swap and paint. It's easy to put money in car when at home still.

Yea there are definitly no shortage of muscle cars down here, some are very high horsepower, i have several friends with 500+ hp daily drivers. Im in the king area, work at a shop in winston salem, welcome to n.c. i think you'll like it.

Thanks i hope so. Wanted to finish car while i lived at home. O well. Gana need a good tuning shop when i get their if any recomendations.

*there

We may be hicks, but we like our grammarZ. ;)

Specifying the area of NC might help, but the "scene" in general is hurt. Many folks have moved on, a couple of old-timers still wrench, but I saw a decent Holset (did I use decent and junkyard turbo in teh same sentence?) powered 1g at a Cars and Coffee in Greensboro back in Nov.

Welcome to NC! Concord area is pretty cool and I'm only about 25 mins away if you need a hand. ZMAX 1/4 mile drag and Charlotte Motor Speedway are located there. I agree with these guys about tons of muscle cars and the DSM scene is definitely hurt. Not many of us left around here.

There☆ my elementary school was not the best.

Well I will still be a DSM'er and will always enjoy American muscle. I just might need a second car. Always enjoy some support while wrenching.

Well be looking for auto X coarse and car meets to get involved in.
Scary to move away from all friends and family. End of Feb beginning of March is the plan.

Still zero clue as to where you are moving. Again, this info may be helpful in finding people near you. ;)

Depends on where at you're moving to. the car scene in the charlotte area is huge. Got a buddy there who says there's tons of dsm's there. I'm in the Raleigh area. Small car scene, but have noticed quite a few here in Apex.

I was stationed in cherry pt. For 3 years and nc isn't too bad. Loved the beach and a restaurant named bojangles. Best biscuits and chicken i have ever had.

^^The beach has sea-monsters. ;)

Geographicaly speaking its near perfect, mild weather, mountains a couple hrs one way, beach a couple hrs the other way. Outer banks are awesome, stokes county has a mountain range tht begins and ends within the county (the sauratown mountains) and theelre are some hella fun roads:D

Concord is a good area. There is a strong car scene in the area but a lot of the bigger venues are still mostly traditional muscle and not too import friendly. DSM enthusiasts are a rare breed but there are still plenty of them running around as rice or just an old car though. Our DSM scene has tapered off so much that our regional BB, CarolinaDSM has been shutdown after many years. There are some serious cars still in the Carolinas though and they may show up at any drag event or autocross. You just have to be lucky enough to be there when they do. I'm less than an hour away from Concord, near the Monroe area but unfortunately I believe my time in a DSM is coming to a close as I should have my Laser up for sale soon.

Hey thanks for that link, I am sure I will find at least one guy.

Found out an actual date, start work Monday match 2nd move in date is February 27th.
