High Folks Need some help

I have a 96 Eclipse RS 5spd Manual with a 2.0 non turbo i just rebuilt the engine from top to bottom
plugged everything right up and when i start the car it shoots right at 6000 rpm i checked for air leaks changed the tps iac valve and make sure my throttle cable wasn't too tight my engine is in time and still the same thing and i dont have a check engine light I'm lost guys please advice i wanna get this ride going.

Here is a video of this is precisely whats happening

Yeah i it could be the ecu .but if the ecu was then my car would not start at all right?

This may sound crazy, but did you have the intake manifold off of the head? If so, did you put a manifold gasket on? I'm not trying to be rude, but sometimes it's simple or dumb mistakes that cause the biggest issues.....

I know man i hear ya but yeah we replaced all of the intake manifold gaskets made sure of that.

No smoke should eliminate it being a fuel problem. More than likely its eletrical due to it being exactly 6k rev. I know it sounds weird but un plug the ecu and smell the pin connectors for burnt electrical.

Ok i'll try that keep you posted

Do a boost leak test, and verify that the throttle is closing completely.
i already did everything is sealed up no leaks whatsoever

Its not possible to idle above 1500 unles the idle position circuit has a problem or the throttle isnt closed ergo the position switch isnt closed.

As mentioned above, if the idle switch is activated the ecu cuts fuel at 1500 rpm creating the famous bouncy idle.

Remove the throttle body elbow and visually verify that the throttle is closing.

Ok will do that i'll keep you posted guys

Well crap. Nt. Im not 100 percent positive about the idle circuit on an nt.
Wow just noticed that myself.

But it prompted me to go back to the first post and watch the video. It appears that the throttle cable is adjusted wrong keeping the throttle open. There needs to be a slight amount of slack in the cable, or the throttle can't close. Loosen the two bolts holding the cable, and move the bracket until there is slack in the cable, and see if it still idles high.

Happened to me also The throttle cable is bending somewhere where it shouldnt be bent, does your gas pedal feel tight ?

Ok guys i already did all of that its still doing the same thing

Has to be an issue with that throttle body. I would take apart and double check your gaskets make sure they were put on correctly.
I did check the gaskets they are fine

Oh Yea Its Actually Pretty Common

I would try to get an oem TPS and swap it and see if that does anything
Is your Biss Screw In your tb?

Hey man you might on something here. i just remember the only sensor i didnt replace was the crank sensor and i also remember that sensor had 2 nasty scars on the aluminum part of the sensor where you shove it down in the engine block

i already replaced the tps with a new one and biss screw on a 420a is not adjustable

Well you could always tell people its a permanent Launch control setting.

how does your pedal feel

Double Check The Voltage On the TPS
and correlation with oem specs

My gas pedal feels fine its not loose and its not too tight

Marcus if i unplugged the tps and i started the car whats supposed to happen?

I think it would depend if you are stuck in open loop mode or not, but i would guess it would Idle Properly but not accelerate

Take Off your egr and see if it stuck, And see if you IAC has carbon build up.
Could also be a thermostat keeping the car in rich start.

Check The Ecu voltage and the Tps Voltage for sure
