Last night I was driving around I was in third going a good speed and went to shift to 4th gear but missed and went in to 2nd. It revved to like 12 grand I'm guessing and then just turned off. It felt like a big jolt and then just coasted in to a parking lot. It turns over fine but won't start. No leaking fluid, no smoke no knocking of any kind. I am thinking it jumped timing or fuel cut off. That's where I am starting anyway. One question? Is there a fuel cut off switch some were. I know a few of my past cars had one and all I had to do was reset the button. Is there one on the eclipse also. Oops sorry it's a 96 eclipse gst.
Thanks guys

Ok so my alt is still good. I blew the main fuse that controled the alt. Fixed that and now every thing is running great. But now I believe I have a boost leak. While driving if the rpms get to low it stalls out. Don't see a loss in power but the stalking sucks. Now I am going to find what is making that leak. But it is running and driving great besides that

Could be a number of things going wrong here. I mean the fact you blew the main fuse could mean you have a short somewhere in your wiring if I were you I'd be tracing out your harness to make sure there is no crack in the main positive line and once that is confirmed maybe look at the intake side. You say it wants to stall? At what rpm are you seeing this at 1st 2nd. Couple be maf or bad ice sensor failing to see that you have let off the accelerator. That just some thoughts.

I believe the fuse blew because I hooked up the jumper cables backwards and tried to start it.
I mean I def could have fried something else but I don't have a check engine light to tell me anything. So I thought it may be boost leak.
It stalls when I take it out of gear and the rpms drop. They don't drop down to the normal idle spot it drops all the way down and that is when it stalls or tries to. Some times it will stall and come back on and be fine. At idle it runs fine. Only when I come out of gear and have the clutch engaged.

Not being mean but read like the last 5 posts.

So I get in the car tonight and every thing just ran perfect no stalling or hesitation nothing. Ran perfect all night.

Ok se everything was good for about 2 days. It threw a cel P1105 for the fuel pressure solenoid. And I have a loss of power. When I step on it I hear the turbo spool, my after market boost gauge is holding boost but I feel slight hesitation when I am accelerating. Not sure if the fps would cause all this to happen. Any ideas

you got very lucky!! most over revs I have seen have resulted in timing belt failure and valve/piston damage.
get the charging system fixed, double check your shifter assy. and have fun.

Ok so. New coils installed, new plugs, new wires. Checked the turbo and all is good. I have a boost gauge and every time I get on it it boosts right up to 12 and holds till I let off the gas. Good thing right. Yes. So every things seems to be good but there is a slight hesitation when accelerating. And my power seems to level of at 5 grand. I just did a compression check. These where my results.
