So continuing with my build, I have been shopping coilovers. I enter the part number for Tein Street Flex into good 'ol Google and I found a few websites selling them.

This particular site http://moddiction.com/i-1875771.aspx?gclid=CKH0yv3y38ICFSwV7AodOXgAUw

Is selling Flex coilovers for like $650! That's over 50% off of what I have seen in my other searches. I think I am going to give them a call after the holiday to see what's really going on. If I can get the Flex coils I want at that cheap of a price....hmmm

Should I be worried? I guess my biggest concern is that they will send me some Tein Basics. The part number listed is for the Flex models and the description clearly describes the specs correctly.

Any thoughts? Chime in.

Merry/Happy Xmas also :)

Ok i just checked it out and after looking at actual tien website pics of these i noticed some differences. The base is round on the cheaper ones and not triangular. Theres a couple more i noticed as well. Compare them and you will see. Probably some cheaply made crappy knockoffs. Nowadays there are knockoffs of everything.

I wouldn't go so much off of the pictures though. The picture on the "cheap" site clearly states "not actual product/display purposes only". Or something to that effect.

Either way. I am going to call them up.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just use a normal credit card if you are worried.

Update

So I called the guy. The guy/site is legit. The price for the Tein Flex's WAS an error. I told the guy I should have just ordered them online instead of bringing the error to his attention,as to get a good deal.

He told me the error would've been caught before shipping. The corrected price on the site now is $1200 or close.

Without even asking for a deal or discount the guy punches in a bunch of numbers in the computer and he tells me he can get me the coilovers for $900 shipped.

I ordered them this morning! $900 is a good deal. The mid range megan and others are about that price. I figured if I am going to spend $900 on the Megan's, I might as we'll get the top line TEINS.

I will keep the thread updated. And add pics when they come in.

Very pleased with the outcome so far. Probably do more buisness with that site again.

My buddy just got those and installed them. I helped him. They definately are high quality and the ride was amazing. I will be purchasing these for my car as well.

Yep. Been riding on them for a few weeks now. The car is point and shoot. Very tight. Smooth ride when just cruising but yank the wheel and the car responds quick.

Sometimes I find myself doing nascar style tire warm ups, just swerving slaloms back and forth. Pretty fun.

I need to find an open parking lot and throw down some cones. Do some impromptu autoX.
