Oil pressure head mod

I have a 2g 4g63 head and am tired of seeing my cams getting scratched. I already did the head bolt hole mod. Anyways just want to get a second opinion on blocking off the two oil bleed holes in the head.Any thoughts .Pros and cons.Thanks.

Did you port the oil filter housing? What's your oil pressure like?

No I haven't ported the housing and my oil gauge stays low.

Also what weight oil are you using? And did you properly torque the cam caps down? How come only the cams have problems?

10-30 oil and yes torqued to spec.

I'd say go get a real oil pressure gauge and find out exactly how much it has, and if it's low you need to check the pickup tube, if that's all good and the gasket on it is good your oil pump probably has an issue.

His cams might not be the only problem. I have a 7 bolt, cams looked like hell. Bearings did too when i got it apart.

What is the extra oil pressure your worries about? Have you confirmed what your pressures are exactly to determine if there within spec?

I'm about to block off the two oil relief holes that are in the head.Which should increase my oil pressure substantially

You really need a real gauge and to see the actual pressure first. Then if anything start at the oil filter housing.

What you want to know has already been made clear, but you insist on a band aid fix.
Go to the root of the problem, which could be any of the ones previously stated, go to the source, if not you will have bigger problems later.

Well I did my research and found that I can't plug them.Theyre regulating the oil pressure to lifters.What a waste of oil volume.

Sure they did. See the quote at the bottom. Get a real gauge to see what the pressure really is, then start at the oil source (pickup and oil pump) to start.

Best bit of advice in here. And pick up some adapters to place the sending unit in several spots.. Otherwise you are flying blind.
