I've been running Kelford 272's no issues for a while now in a daily driver. It idles okay....actually mean. I have it tuned with ECUflash. It's a little weak right off idle, but it really takes off in the upper 2000s low 3000s

Stock fuel setup/turbo??. I have dsmlink

Walbro 255HP, FIC 1150, EVO III intake, 70mm S90 throttle body, FP race exhaust manifold, FP DSM76HTA

You will be fine, but I suggest some good valve springs like Kigglys that were mentioned.

I love my kigglys. I have gsc s1's 268cams with only 900 miles on them (im currenly selling actually..bigger turbo time). They are perfect for 16/20g turbos IMO. Full torque on the dyno sheet at 4500rpm. Made 375whp/350tq at only 20 psi on my 20g turbo. Such sweet street cams!

Even though you got the Kelford 272s for a good price, I think they won't be efficient on a 16g set up, but the good news is..you shouldn't cause any damage unless you rev to the moon and you'll have a nice sounds idle.

I have Kelford 264 cams & I run a 35R @32psi daily. The Kelford 272's will be a waste on the T25, they make power where the T25 runs out of steam. So you likely won't see much benefit from the cams, & you'll lose low end power. DSMers usually run big cams because they typically like to drag race. I like smaller cams that give you a larger/flatter powerband that's more usable as I daily my car in the summer & do some lapping. I don't have any problem shifting at 8500 with my 264's, so if you have a big enough turbo you don't need massive cams to do this.

My input would be to sell those cams, buy something that will be more useful to you currently or at least go to a smaller cam if you must install cams now (you should have a whole list of gear you need before you think about cams)

Ppl over think it LOL it can't hurt to put them in and tune it since your there LOL go for it

It's always a back and forth argument, but as I said earlier, not looking for any gains. I don't want to deal with the hastle of finding other cams, installing them, then reinstalling the kelfords for a bigger setup. I won't stay stock for long, promise on that.

Changing cams is a 1 hour job tops if you know what you are doing. The people telling you to run them have no clue in a performance stand point on small turbos(20g/green/hx35)) on a street driven car. No, you will not run into problems installing them but you will not gain as much usable power as you would with a smaller cam.

What turbo are you planning to run? You said 16g in the beginning and that is pretty small.

Have you seen the AMS Dsport cam test? On their 35r evo test car the COMP 280+ made the best midrange power out of all the cams tested. They looked like a great street cam. They are a tick smaller then K272 and s2's

What are your plans for the car, what turbo & what power levels? Kelford 272's are a waste on a 16g framed turbo & likely a smaller cam would result in a more useful powerband. If you don't plan on making 500hp+ & drag racing, etc, those cams wouldn't be my choice.

If that's the big cam shootout from a few years back, then I've seen it, if its more recent, probably haven't seen it. I know those evo cam tests can't always be taken as what worked best for that test will work best on the DSM 4G63 as profile's aren't necessarily the same between the two platforms.

looking around 400hp. I'm saving up till I find a good turbo. I only mentioned that I'd use a 16g in order to help a little with the cams. The 16g is just a spare turbo that my brother has. A turbo is really the only thing I need. I have the rest and will soon upgrade to speed density.

For 400hp, I wouldn't go with a cam that big, a smaller cam will have a more usable powerband for the size of turbo that you'd typically buy for that type of power goal (ie the car will be faster/more usable). No point in having a cam that likes to make power in the ~5-8K range, when you have a turbo that likes to make power lower down. Unless you plan to do alot of drag racing, in the upper rpms, I'd look at a different cam (Kelford 264's, GSC S1's etc).

Me and a friend planned on swapping our cams, but I heard bad reviews about his brand. He has BC 272. I'm gonna think about what I want to do whether I'm gonna use the kelfords or not.[DOUBLEPOST=1415898955][/DOUBLEPOST]What do you think about the BC 272 cams. If any good then I'll swap cams. From what I read, they say they aren't any good.

Just keep the cams until you can afford to do all the supporting mods at once. And I personally wouldn't run BC cams.
