Ok guys I'm thinking I have compressor surge but not sure I build boost just fine an my car pulls good an hard like it always has but I'm getting this annoying whistle an flutter sound iv done boost leak test an checked out good everything works as should just have a really bad whistle an can not pin point it so I'm thinking it has to be the turbo going bad but I have no shaft play no side to side or in an out its solid I'm just not sure where to start now and it won't let me upload my video I can post it on dsm tuners Facebook page James macallister

Not sure if its similar to mine, but mine used to whistle and it was the BOV (eBay SSQV) not closing quick enough on shifts, so a stream of air was keeping it open. After I removed the insert, it could then close fast enough and it whistled no more.

Just took my wastegate off because the whistle sounds like it's coming from there an it looks to be leaking from the top vband but I could be wrong

The whistle starts at about 2psi an stays all the way through boost an flutters when I let off there's a video on dsm tuners Facebook page my name is James an in the video the car has a purple valve cover can't miss it[DOUBLEPOST=1414638543][/DOUBLEPOST]An I just reassembled the wastegate an bolted everything back up an still have the whistle so I'm guessing it's the turbo but I have no play at all I'm just mind boggled at this point

I really don't think that your turbo is causing your whistle. It's been talked about before and usually ends up being the bov. Sometimes the spring needs to be adjusted, but you can go to tight or not tight enough. What are you using for a boost controller?

18 psi don't use a boost controller an I have a crushed 1g Bov and currently getting the turbo rebuilt have all new couplers for my ic piping an getting new gaskets for just about everything that'll whistle so we'll see what happens and before I Tore down I'm positive there was no boost leak
